Studies of structure and dynamics of solid polymers by elastic and inelastic neutron scattering

Abstract Neutron scattering methods can be applied to solid polymers in order to investigate the structure of the bulk material as well as the nature of the molecular motion. A review of some recently performed studies is presented. Diffusional motion in crystals of chain molecules has been studied by means of quasielastic scattering for the case of n-C33H68 as an example for the relationship between structure and molecular motion. It can be shown that below the so-called rotational transition the paraffin crystals exhibit two types of molecular motion: a translational jump (τt = 0.5 10-8s) and a 180°-rotational jump (τr = 2.5 10-8s). La tesi propone uno studio sulle traduzioni di Salvatore Quasimodo dagli autori antichi greci e latini, a partire dall’analisi delle carte inedite dell’autore conservate al “Centro di ricerca della tradizione manoscritta di autori moderni e contemporanei” dell’Università di Pavia. Tenuto conto della cospicua documentazione conservata al Fondo pavese, ci si sofferma su alcune varianti manoscritte e dattiloscritte delle carte di lavoro che testimoniano un profondo lavorio sui testi della selezione quasimodiana, in vista anche di una efficace resa metrica dei testi. Quantum light depolarization: the phase-space perspective

Quantum light depolarization is handled through a master equation obtained by coupling dispersively the field to a randomly distributed atomic reservoir. This master equation is solved by transforming it into a quasiprobability distribution in phase space and the quasiclassical limit is investigated.
Molecular quenching and relaxation in a plasmonic tunable system

Molecular fluorescence decay is significantly modified when the emitting molecule is located near a plasmonic structure. When the lateral sizes of such structures are reduced to nanometer-scale cross sections, they can be used to accurately control and amplify the emission rate. In this Rapid Communication, we extend Green's dyadic method to quantitatively investigate both radiative and nonradiative decay channels experienced by a single fluorescent molecule confined in an adjustable dielectric-metal nanogap. The technique produces data in excellent agreement with current experimental work.

La Biblioteca Nacional de España ha trabajado activamente en la adaptación de RDA a la descripción del libro antiguo desde el año 2015, hasta poder afrontar finalmente desde el año 2020 el paso definitivo: la redacción del perfil de aplicación de RDA para monografías antiguas de la BNE. Este trabajo ha permitido identificar los principales retos de esta aplicación, así como aprovechar las oportunidades que ofrece al catalogador de libro antiguo.
