This paper presents a new analytical framework for assessing spatial disparities among countries. It takes for granted that the analysis of a country’s performance cannot be limited solely to either economic or social factors. The aim of the paper is to combine relevant economic and non-economic (mainly social) aspects of a country’s performance in an integrated logical framework. Sulfur is an important volatile component of magmas that presents different oxidation states, depending on the redox conditions and on the phase of occurrence: in silicate melts it is typically dissolved as S⁶⁺ and/or S²⁻ , in the gas phase it occurs principally as SO₂ (S⁴⁺ ) and H₂S (S²⁻). Mount Etna, in which magmatic redox conditions are poorly constrained, is used as a case study to investigate sulfur behavior in hydrous basaltic magmas during magma differentiation and degassing. Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is a grain legume crop that produces seeds rich in proteins for food and feed and, thanks to its symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, enriches the soil with nitrogen. The wider development of pea cultivation is therefore a major agroecological challenge. High-resolution FTIR spectra analysis of sulfur dioxide isotopologues

In this thesis we considered the spectral properties of the sulfur dioxide. The experimental FTIR spectra of numerous sulfur dioxide isotopologues, 32S16O2, 34S16O2, 32S18O2 and 32S16O18O, were first recorded in the regions of fundamental, «hot», combination and overtone bands. The wide variability of the experimental conditions gave possibility to observe and identify for the first time transitions be¬ longing to the following of ro-vibrational bands: 3v2, 3v2 - v2, 2v2 - v2 bands of 32S16O2; 2v2 - v2 band of 34S16O2; v1 + v2, v2 + v3, v1 + v3, 2v1, 2v3 bands of 32S18O2; v1, v3, 2v1, v1 + v3, 2v3 bands of 32S16O18O.
