Infinitesimal deformations of double covers of smooth algebraic varieties

The goal of this paper is to give a method to compute the space of infinitesimal deformations of a double cover of a smooth algebraic variety. The space of all infinitesimal deformations has a representation as a direct sum of two subspaces. One is isomorphic to the space of simultaneous deformations of the branch locus and the base of the double covering. The second summand is the subspace of deformations of the double covering which induce trivial deformations of the branch divisor. Tajā apkopoti dažāda apjoma pētījumi, sākot no zinātnisko konferenču tēzēm un beidzot ar vairāku sējumu izdevumiem. This electronic bibliography covers linguistic studies dealing with early Latvian texts (16th–18th cc.) from the research on these started in the 19th c. until 2019. It comprises studies of various kinds, from conference abstracts to issues comprising several volumes.

This article proposes a study of the traditions in defensive architecture that concurred in the projects designed by Spanish military engineers for the fortification of the Valencian frontier in 1648 and 1649, in the context of the War of Catalonia (1640-1652). For this it is essential to follow the route of the Valencian adaptations to the military revolution in the matter of fortifications throughout the sixteenth century and compare them with those brought to Valencia in 1641 by the Marquis of Leganes and his engineers from the school of Milan.

Pro gradun tarkoituksena on selvittää oululaisten ja raahelaisten kauppa-alusten miehistön nuorimpien jäsenten merille lähtöä ja urakehitystä ensimmäisen viiden vuoden aikana. Työn tavoitteena on selvittää, minkä ikäisiä olivat nuoret merimiehet, millaiset sosiaaliset lähtökohdat heillä oli, miksi he pestautuivat, millaista elämä oli laivalla ja miten heidän uransa kehittyi jatkossa. Tarkastelu kohdistuu viiden vuoden jaksolle vuosina 1858-1863 ja mahdollisuuksien mukaan joidenkin miesten uraa on seurattu pidemmälti. The subject of the article is the ‘memory war’ over the memory of the Civil War of 1918 in Vyborg, and the displaced Karelians’ experience in the time of diaspora. Until the wars of 1939–1945 the culture of remembrance of the Civil War was divided in Vyborg and in Finland and many truths of the war were maintained in the Red’s and White’s own groups. The article details how the dichotomous history culture of Civil War memories has slowly transformed into a diversified and critical analysis over the past one hundred years.
