-Rafael.G-Mahiques@uv.es Estudio iconográfico de los frescos de la cúpula de la Basílica de la Virgen de los Desamparados de Valencia, obra de Antonio Palomino realizada entre 1701 y 1704. Aproximación a un análisis del ámbito de la Gloria celestial. Aquí la Virgen aparece como reina e intercesora ante el Trono de Gracia, en donde, de acuerdo con la tradición iconográfica, se incluye a San Juan Bautista y los arma Christi portados por ángeles. En torno a este núcleo se disponen los bienaventurados, agrupados bajo el criterio de la Letanía Lauretana, en la cual María es invocada con los títulos de Reina de los Ángeles, de los Patriarcas, Profetas, Apóstoles, Mártires, Confesores, Vírgenes y …

Maģistra darba autore Jūlija Hafizova izstrādāja projektu „Jauniešu centra atklāšana Rīgā”, kura mērķis ir nodrošināt jauniešus ar vienu kopēju vietu, kur viņi var saņemt atbalstu savu zināšanu un kompetences uzlabošanai un ideju īstenošanai. As the literature is not exhaustive with reference to the way the Turin Shroud (TS) Man was crucified, and it is not easy to draw significant information from only a "photograph" of a man on a linen sheet, this study tries to add some detail on this issue based on both image processing of high resolution photos of the TS and on experimental tests on arms and legs of human cadavers. Novel Developments on Artemisinin and Its Derivatives for Cancer Therapy

The lack of effective long-term anticancer therapy highlights the necessity to identify new potent anticancer compounds. Many biocompounds of naturally occurring medicinal plants have pharmacological activities and, thus, represent a source of molecules that may have anti-proliferative effects on a variety of cancers. During the past 10 years, we have systematically analyzed medicinal plants used in traditional Chinese medicine and focused our interest on Artemisia annua (sweet wormwood herb). The active principle of sweet wormwood herb is Artemisinin, a sesquiterpene, which exerts not only anti-malarial activity but also profound cytotoxicity against tumour cells.
