Il tema di progetto della Biblioteca costituisce l’occasione suggestiva per ripensare la città e ragionare sul valore dello spazio pubblico. Da “luogo dei libri”, la Biblioteca è oggi divenuta contenitore flessibile per molteplici funzioni, dispositivo di dialogo e relazioni a servizio dell’idea di cittadinanza e della bellezza. In modo particolare la Biblioteca dell’Università - oltre ad essere luogo di comunicazione, spazio di socializzazione, centro di informazione - per il significato e il suo valore iconico, si assume la responsabilità di rappresentare l’unità e l’identità di una comunità dedita allo studio e alla formazione.

Many universities in non-English speaking countries have been adopting English as a medium of instruction to internationalize their education. We set out to compare the language policies of a Finnish and a Japanese university using the lens of language ideology – a set of normative beliefs about the social dimension of language. Data were collected from selected documents of the two universities, and analyzed utilizing critical discursive psychology. Pretendemos analizar lo que hacen los alumnos con mejor nota de entrada en la universidad que pueda explicar su rendimiento, de cara a precisar modelos eficaces de funcionamiento que se puedan generalizar y enseñar, en la medida de lo posible. Usando el cuestionario CEVAPU (Cuestionario de evaluación de las actitudes ante el aprendizaje de los estudiantes universitarios), evaluamos las actitudes ante el aprendizaje de un grupo de alumnos excelentes, seleccionados de 11 titulaciones de 9 centros de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, y comparamos los resultados con un grupo de N similar de alumnos medios de los mismos centros. This study aimed to improve our understanding of what constitutes a healthy organizational change process among university employees. Positive attitudes and proactive participation toward organizational change were presumed to affect and be affected by personality resources measured via core self-evaluations and work-related motivational well-being (vigor). The study used 3-wave longitudinal data collected in 2 large Finnish universities during their recent process of organizational change (N = 926). Non-dermatophyte filamentous fungi prospectively isolated in the routine activity of five teaching hospitals in France were first identified by conventional methods in each laboratory and then by MS in one centre. Estimating the long-term economic impacts of Spanish universities on the national economy

In contrast to previous studies on the economic impact of universities that focus on the demand side, this study centres on universities' effects on the supply side of the economy. Through a case study of the Spanish University System, this paper proposes a methodology based on counterfactual scenarios and growth accounting to estimate the long-term impacts of universities on their regional economies. Our study evaluates the stylized impacts of universities' activities on human capital, salaries and occupation of the working age population, on generation of technological capital and, finally, on the GDP growth of the Spanish economy in the period 1989–2010.
