Abstract Hepatitis C virus (HCV) remains a significant public health problem and is one of the major causes of chronic liver disease worldwide. In recent years many new tools to facilitate widespread HCV screening and new therapeutic options with excellent efficacy and tolerability profiles and cost lowering policies have become available. A local approach to a class of locally finite groups

This paper is devoted to the study of a class of generalised P-nilpotent groups in the universe cℒ̄ of all radical locally finite groups satisfying min-q for every prime q. Some results of finite groups are extended and a characterisation of the injectors associated with this class is given.
On X-saturated formations of finite groups

[EN] In the paper, a Frattini-like subgroup associated with a class X of simple groups is introduced and analysed. The corresponding X-saturated formations are exactly the X-local ones introduced by Förster. Our techniques are also very useful to highlight the properties and behaviour of omega-local formations. In fact, extensions and improvements of several results of Shemetkov are natural consequences of our study.

AbstractIn this paper several aspects of infinite simple locally finite groups of 1-type are considered. In the first part, the classes of diagonal limits of finite alternating groups, of diagonal limits of finite direct products of alternating groups, and of absolutely simple groups of 1-type are distinguished from each other. In the second part, inductive systems of representations over fields of characteristic zero (which are known to correspond to ideals in the group algebra) are studied in general for groups of 1-type. Time–carbonyl groups equivalence in photo-oxidative aging of virgin/recycled polymer blends

AbstractThe photo-oxidation behaviour of polymers is strongly dependent on the initial amount of carbonyl groups along the chains. The growing use of recycled post-consumer polymers coming from products used outdoors and then photo-oxidised, both pure and blended with the same virgin polymer, gives rise to an unpredictable behaviour of weathering resistance of products made with these materials. The present work shows that the carbonyl group–exposure time curves can be shifted along the time axis to give a single generalised master plot. Vaccination of the elderly is an important factor in limiting the impact of influenza in the com- munity. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors associated with influenza vacci- nation coverage in hospitalized patients aged 65 years hospitalized due to causes unrelated to influenza in Spain. We carried out a cross-sectional study. Bivariate analysis was performed comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated patients, taking in to account sociodemographic variables and medical risk conditions. Z-permutable subgroups of finite groups

Let Z be a complete set of Sylow subgroups of a finite group G, that is, a set composed of a Sylow p-subgroup of G for each p dividing the order of G. A subgroup H of G is called Z-permutable if H permutes with all members of Z. The main goal of this paper is to study the embedding of the Z-permutable subgroups and the influence of Z-permutability on the group structure.
