This paper explores the nature of public participation in Danish municipal wind power planning. Although the procedure for involving citizens embedded in the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure for wind power projects is often praised for its participatory character, the approach is not without problems. In this paper, we identify the limitations and potentials of the public space provided for citizen involvement. El incendio del palacio de Mosen Sorell de Valencia en 1878 y su repercusión urbanística

En 1878 un pavoroso incendio destruyó gran parte del palacio de Mosén Sorell, una de las mejores casas señoriales de la Valencia del siglo XV, del que tres portadas subsisten fuera de su original emplazamiento. Al año siguiente del incendio se propuso el ensanche de la plaza donde se levantaba dicho palacio, a costa de una sustanciosa porción de su superficie. El arquitecto Vicente Constantino Marzo efectuó el proyecto, que fue respaldado por un real decreto tras la demanda contra aquél de varios interesados propietarios. El artículo es un estudio del proceso de construcción y de la historia de los dos edificios para oficinas y central telefónica construidos en Valencia por la Compañía Telefónica Nacional de España entre 1926 y 1928. Tanto la sede central, situada en la plaza más importante de la ciudad, como la subcentral del distrito marítimo, ubicada en la popular barriada de El Grao de Valencia, constituyen por su tipología constructiva y su peculiaridad estética dos casos singulares en el panorama arquitectónico valenciano. Este artículo es el resultado de nuestro esfuerzo analítico para comprender cómo se han pensado y practicado intervenciones urbanísticas, extremadamente drásticas, contra el barrio El Raval de Barcelona en períodos formalmente democráticos. Lo que consideramos original de nuestra propuesta analítica es la identificación de una suerte de doxa tecnocrática que habría impregnado el urbanismo –también el barcelonés- desde sus inicios, y que acabará caracterizando el aclamado tanto como discutido “Modelo Barcelona”.
