Kurzemes un Zemgales hercogiste no 1561. - 1795.gadam latviešu historiogrāfijas vērtējumā

2018

Diffraction by fractal metallic supergratings.

2007

The reflectance of corrugated surfaces with a fractal distribution of grooves is investigated. Triadic and polyadic Cantor fractal distributions are considered, and the reflected intensity is compared with that of the corresponding periodic structure. The self-similarity property of the response is analyzed when varying the depth of the grooves and the lacunarity parameter. The results confirm that the response is self-similar for the whole range of depths considered, and this property is also maintained for all values of the lacunarity parameter. © 2007 Optical Society of America. Sparse Image Representation by Directionlets

2010

Despite the success of the standard wavelet transform (WT) in image processing in recent years, the efficiency and sparsity of its representation are limited by the spatial symmetry and separability of its basis functions built in the horizontal and vertical directions. One-dimensional discontinuities in images (edges or contours), which are important elements in visual perception, intersect too many wavelet basis functions and lead to a non-sparse representation. To capture efficiently these elongated structures characterized by geometrical regularity along different directions (not only the horizontal and vertical), a more complex multidirectional (M-DIR) and asymmetric transform is requi…

On certain extension theorems in the mixed Borel setting

2004

Abstract Given two sequences M 1 and M 2 of positive numbers, we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which the inclusions Λ { M 1 } ⊂ f (j) (0) j∈ N 0 : f∈ D { M 2 } [−1,1] , Λ ( M 1 ) ⊂ f (j) (0) j∈ N 0 : f∈ D ( M 2 ) [−1,1] hold, by means of explicit constructions. This answers a question raised by Chaumat and Chollet (Math. Ann. 298 (1994) 7–40). We also consider the case when [−1,1] is replaced by [−1,1]m as well as the possibility to get ultraholomorphic extensions.

Results of a literature review on methods for estimating buildings energy demand at district level

2019

Abstract In the framework of distributed energy planning, evaluating reliable energy profiles of different sectors has a prominent role. At the same time, it is a quite challenging task, since the availability of actual energy profiles of buildings at the district level is not widespread. A survey of over 70 studies in scientific literature has been accomplished and a set of criteria has been defined for classifying the selected contributions based on the energy demand data features, source and/or estimation methods, highlighting the ones adopting hourly energy profiles. As final results, tables summarizing the main methods characteristics and a selection of studies providing directly useab…

Mindfulness, inattention and performance in a driving simulator

2015

The following study will explore the link between mindfulness, driver inattention and a number of driving performance variables that were tested using the SIMUVEG driving simulator. 67 subjects between the ages of 19 and 27 completed the mindful attention awareness scale, attention-related driving errors scale and attention-related cognitive errors scale questionnaires, and were evaluated in two driving performance measures: time to line-crossing and mean speed. The results did not show a correlation between driving performance and mindfulness measures; they did show low but significant correlations with driver inattention measures. A regression analysis suggested that the specific measure …

Żagańska kolekcja listów i autografów w Rosyjskim Państwowym Archiwum Akt Dawnych w Moskwie

2021

The Russian State Archives of Historical Records in Moscow (Российский государственный архив древних актор) contains a group No. 1587, which the institutions resource list calls ‘Collection of Autographs Gathered by Princes Żagań.’ The article describes the history of the library of the dukes of Żagań in the 19th century, including the creation of a collection of manuscripts. This collection is of a particular importance as a testimony to the finał years of the Duchy of Courland and Semigalia and the extensive family ties of the princes of Żagań. The collection also includes autographs of important historical figures in Europę, sources concerning the Thirty Years War in Silesia, and relatio…

Approaches to teaching biology: A look at the contents

2020

What color is your heart? The use of emojis in social activism processes

2020

Parenting Styles, Prosocial, and Aggressive Behavior: The Role of Emotions in Offender and Non-offender Adolescents

2017

The aim is to analyse the parenting styles effects (acceptance, negative control and negligence) on prosociality and aggressive behavior in adolescents through the mediator variables empathy and emotional instability, and also, if this model fits to the same extent when we study adolescents institutionalized due to problems with the law and adolescents from the general population, and at the same time, if the values of the different analyzed variables are similar in both groups of adolescents. We carried out a cross-sectional study. 220 participants from schools in the metropolitan area of Valencia took part in the study. Also, 220 young offenders took part recruited from four Youth Detenti…
