Lihavuus on monitahoinen kulttuurinen ja yhteiskunnallinen aihe, joka puhuttaa ja herättää mielipiteitä. Yhteiskunnassamme vallitsee vahva hoikkuusnormi, ja ruumiin koko onkin yhä enenevissä määrin alkanut vaikuttaa siihen, miten yksilöön suhtaudutaan.
