The regionalization and local development, encouraged by the European Union involves the notion of territory. Today territory or region should be seen as a system of actors. The concept of sustainable development should be taken into account by these actors. Businesses (especially SMEs) whose aim is to assure local development, economic growth and job creation are one of the key elements of territorys sustainability.

We propose a conceptual and graphical model of the territory built from an empirical intuitive and deductive approach of systemic paradigm of territorialization. This model is based on an individualized approach before being extended to the collective level. It is first seen in the context of the evolution of the concept in scientific thinking. Then, we introduce it in understanding the dynamics of the territory, under the paradigm of territorial intelligence, through observation and observatories that we adapt to the context of governance systems at different scales.

The territorial presentation of performance: the sustainability reports in automotive and aerial transport industries in Asia and EuropaThis research studies the sustainability reports of 18 automobile constructors and airlines companies for 2011. The study aims at identifying the objectives pursued by these firms and analyzing both similarities and differences. Introducing the concept of territory, we propose to consider sustainability reports as tools for a story-telling that would reconcile the social and the economic dimensions of the firms.

Pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten suun terveysviestinnän verkkokampanja tukee nuoren terveydenlukutaitoa. Tutkimuskysymykset olivat: Miten suun terveydenlukutaito ilmenee nuorten ajattelussa? Minkälaisia ajatuksia nuorille herää verkkokampanja-aineiston sisällöstä? Minkälaisia ajatuksia nuorille herää verkkokampanjan menetelmistä? Hermeneutiikan periaatteita mukailevalla tutkimusotteella oli päämääränä nuorten merkitysmaailman ymmärtäminen. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastelen terveyssisar Tytti Huotarin tekemää työtä pienessä lappilaisessa Pelkosenniemen kunnassa 1930-luvun lopulta 1960-luvun alkuun saakka. Huotari on isoäitini ja hän kirjoitti vuosia työuransa jälkeen muistelmat, joissa hän paneutuu kuvaamaan tekemäänsä työtä ja siihen vaikuttaneita olosuhteita. Nämä muistelmat muodostavat toisen puolen tutkimuksen lähdeaineistosta. Lisäksi täydennän ammatinharjoittajan itsensä muistoja kyläläisille tekemilläni haastatteluilla, joissa he kertovat omia kokemuksiaan terveyssisaren työstä.
