The engagement of civil society actors in energy generation can be defined by the term community energy. Community energy initiatives have increased in several countries. This thesis aims at better understanding how this phenomenon emerges and how it can contribute to the decarbonization of our economy. Vlogataan ja blogataan Torontossa ja Helsingissä -projektin keskeisenä ajatuksena oli yhdistää samassa vaiheessa suomen kielen opintojaan olevat kielen opiskelijat oppimaan yhdessä ja toisiltaan internetin ja sosiaalisen median välityksellä blogeja ja vlogeja tehden ja niistä keskustellen. Sulautuva oppiminen (blended learning) ja sen kautta luotu verkkovälitteinen yhteistyö ja yhteisön tuki toivat oppimiseen uusia mahdollisuuksia. Sense of belonging in a digitalised care work community

This chapter uses the theoretical framework of sense of belonging to explore how eldercare workers from Finnish service housing units for older people describe the use of digital devices and applications in their work and the work practices that relate to their sense of belonging. The study is based on interview data (n = 25) that was collected in 2018 for a study on digitalisation of eldercare. The chapter asks: what does a sense of belonging mean for care workers’ agency in a digital era? Käsittelen tutkimuksessani itse kehittämäni lavastettavan valokuvan mahdollisuuksia taidekasvatusmenetelmänä. Menetelmälleni ominaista on, että se hyödyntää siirto-objektia, eli trasitionaaliobjektia kuvan päähenkilönä, jonka kautta teemaan perehdytään. Menetelmälleni on erityistä se, että ryhmääni osallistuva kuvaaja pysyy koko ajan kameran takana ja saa päättää itse kuvaan kuuluvista symbolisista elementeistä. Meetings are ubiquitous in societies and organizations, and they are often taken for granted. Meetings are a key organizational practice by which organizations are talked into being. They include problem-solving, decision-making, and sensemaking through which organizational goals are achieved. However, meetings are an institution: They have a ritualistic function in the workplace. This chapter widens the everyday conception of meetings by showcasing their role as communicative practices to make things happen in organizations.
