The developing brain is vulnerable to social defeat during the juvenile period. As complements of human studies, animal models of social defeat provide a straightforward approach to investigating the functional and neurobiological consequences of social defeats. Electromagnetic distal targeting system does not reduce the overall operative time of the intramedullary nailing for humeral shaft fractures

Abstract Introduction We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the use of the electromagnetic distal targeting system in treating humeral shaft fracture. Methods Patients were divided in: Group 1) patients that received a distal locking screw placement following the free-hand technique; Group 2) patients in which the distal locking screw was performed using the SURESHOT device. Results No differences were noted comparing Group 1 (freehand) [71,9 range 40–135 min] to Group 2 (SURESHOT)[70, range 25–125 min]. Conclusion The use of the EM distal targeting system doesn't reduce the overall operative time of the humeral shaft fracture fixation using IMN.
Hybrid State Feedback Position-Force Control of Hydraulic Cylinder

A hybrid position-force control is proposed using a unified state feedback controller in combination with feedforward dead-zone compensation. Dead-zone compensator was constructed as inverse of the identified static map while the state feedback gains were obtained using a numerical optimization routine. An accurate state-space model affine in states and control, derived in a previous work, was used for closed-loop simulations and control tuning. Abstract Objective We evaluated the usefulness of a three-dimensional (3D) interactive atlas to illustrate and teach surgical skull base anatomy in a clinical setting. Study Design A highly detailed atlas of the adult human skull base was created from multiple high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scans of a healthy Caucasian male. The participants included 394 adolescents and young adults aged 15 to 20 years attending the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of two public high schools in Italian cities.
