This paper analyzes the behavior of Ibex35 from January 1999 to December 2001, in order to check if it follows a different process from random walk so its return is not a white noise and it can be predictable, against the efficient market hypothesis. For that, a nonlinear generating process of return will be considered and a STAR-APARCH model will be specified. This model allows a nonlinear behavior in the conditional mean and in the conditional variance. En las ramblas mediterráneas el aporte hídrico superficial depende de la lluvia y esta restringido a las crecidas, momento en que se producen, además, las mayores perdidas superficiales en favor del subálveo. En este trabajo se estiman las perdidas en varias ramblas valencianas por distintos métodos (déficits, coeficientes y umbrales), con el fin de caracterizar su comportamiento en aras de una mejor gestión del agua.

[EN] The so-called “threshold concepts” are present in all areas of study. Its acquisition by the student represents a milestone in the advancement of the conceptual understanding of a subject. They are often difficult to learn, but when they are overcome they generate a reconceptualization that allows progress and deepening in the subject of study. We present an activity designed to develop a key threshold concept in pharmacology, the drug discovery process. To do this, we develop a practical laboratory project that will integrate both the extraction and search for active ingredients and the simulation of some aspects of their clinical trials in the phase I.
El tipo de cambio real dólar-euro y el diferencial de intereses reales

This paper investigates whether threshold effects exist in the relationship between dollar-euro real exchange rate and real interest differential, over the period January 1984 to December 2004. We specify a three-regime threshold model and the results provide evidence that there is no threshold effect in the short term, but the nonlinear behaviour of real exchange rate implies threshold effect in the long term. On the other hand, the nonlinearity into the behaviour of real exchange rates can be modelled by a Band-TAR which implies a symmetric response to the real interest differential outside the bank. La inundación es el riesgo natural de mayor impacto social y económico, la persistencia del problema a pesar de los continuos avances tecnológicos pone de manifiesto la necesidad de estudiar más detalladamente el comportamiento de las áreas inundables y elaborar una cartografía de riesgo que contribuya a un uso más racional del espacio. Este trabajo presenta el proceso de elaboración del mapa de riesgo del llano de inundación del río Arga (Navarra) en los municipios de Falces, Peralta y Funes.
