Museos para todos: la traducción e interpretación para entornos multimodales como herramienta de accesibilidad universal
2012
This article is the English version of “Museos para todos. La traducción e interpretación para entornos multimodales como herramienta de accesibilidad universal” by Catalina Jiménez Hurtado, Claudia Seibel & Silvia Soler Gallego. It was not published on the print version of MonTI for reasons of space. The online version of MonTI does not suffer from these limitations, and this is our way of promoting plurilingualism. Audiovisual Translation (AVT) has a scientific responsibility to develop analytical methodologies for the textual phenomenon of multimodality, and for the translation strategies associated with it. At the same time, it should aim to provide studies of universal accessibility wi…
Museums for all: translation and interpreting for multimodal spaces as a tool for universal accessibility
2012
Audiovisual Translation (AVT) has a scientific responsibility to develop analytical methodologies for the textual phenomenon of multimodality, and for the translation strategies associated with it. At the same time, it should aim to provide studies of universal accessibility with a powerful tool for facilitating access to knowledge. This article offers some reflections on the theoretical foundations of AVT and considers how these are projected in the creation of new professional profiles, with specific application to universal accessibility in the museums. La Traducción Audiovisual (TAV) tiene la responsabilidad científica de desarrollar metodologías de análisis para el fenómeno textual de …
Phone-Controlled Delivery of NGN Services into Residential Environments
2008
The horizontally layered architecture of the IMS/NGN standards family enables the delivery of services independent of access network and requesting device. In this article, the authors propose a further separation of service control and delivery, allowing the requesting device - in particular a user's mobile phone - to invite other devices (we will focus on DLNA appliances) into the service delivery, enhancing both user experience and service design flexibility. The proposed solution builds on exploiting proximity technologies (e.g. barcodes, NFC) for pairing the control device with a remote environment. Motivated by scenarios, the architecture concepts are explained and a prototype that wa…
Patient Accessible Electronic Health Records: Impacts on Nursing Documentation Practices at a University Hospital
2018
In a Norwegian health region, patients have online access to their own electronic health record and they can also read the nursing documentation. This paper presents a qualitative study made at a university hospital to investigate how patient accessible electronic health records impact on nursing documentation practices. Semi-structured interviews were made with 12 informants from 5 cardiology departments at one hospital regarding how they used electronic nursing documentation in their daily practice and how they experienced patient accessible nursing documentation. The nurses emphasized that they focused on a clear and well-written nursing documentation, but in some situations, they were h…

A Hard X-Ray View of Scorpius X-1 with INTEGRAL : Nonthermal Emission?
2006
We present here simultaneous INTEGRAL/RXTE observations of Sco X-1, and in particular a study of the hard X-ray emission of the source and its correlation with the position in the Z-track of the X-ray color-color diagram. We find that the hard X-ray (above about 30 keV) emission of Sco X-1 is dominated by a power-law component with a photon index of ~3. The flux in the power-law component slightly decreases when the source moves in the color-color diagram in the sense of increasing inferred mass accretion rate from the horizontal branch to the normal branch/flaring branch vertex. It becomes not significantly detectable in the flaring branch, where its flux has decreased by about an order of…
Gaia -ESO Survey: Analysis of pre-main sequence stellar spectra
2015
This paper describes the analysis of UVES and GIRAFFE spectra acquired by the Gaia-ESO Public Spectroscopic Survey in the fields of young clusters whose population includes pre-main sequence (PMS) stars. Both methods that have been extensively used in the past and new ones developed in the contest of the Gaia-ESO survey enterprise are available and used. The internal precision of these quantities is estimated by inter-comparing the results obtained by such different methods, while the accuracy is estimated by comparison with independent external data, like effective temperature and surface gravity derived from angular diameter measurements, on a sample of benchmarks stars. Specific strategi…
Geochemistry of REE, Zr and HF in a wide range of pH and water composition: The Nevado del Ruiz volcano hydrothermal system (Colombia)
2015
International audience; The geochemical behaviour of Rare Earth Elements, Zr and Hf was investigated in the thermal waters of Nevado del Ruiz volcano system. A wide range of pH, between 1.0 and 8.8, characterizes these fluids. The acidic waters are sulphate dominated with different Cl/SO4 ratios. The important role of the pH and the ionic complexes for the distribution of REE, Zr and Hf in the aqueous phase was evidenced. The pH rules the precipitation of authigenic Fe and Al oxyhydroxides producing changes in REE, Zr, Hf amounts and strong anomalies of Cerium. The precipitation of alunite and jarosite removes LREE from the solution, changing the REE distribution in acidic waters.Y–Ho and Z…
