Global and local interactions in football: Comparing the development paths of Finland and Hungary
2018
The aim of this study is to increase understanding of football’s global and local contexts. More specifically, the development paths of Finnish and Hungarian football are explored and compared in four research articles from different perspectives within a global framework. These viewpoints, in addition to a historical-sociological overview in the article I, cover closely interrelated phenomena observable in the landscape of top-level football: the organization of elite youth football, the professionalization of players and the development of football stadiums. The main research question of the study is as follows: In what way have glocal interactions in men’s football shaped the development…
Opettajien ja rehtorin työn haasteita Kodolányi János -peruskoulussa Unkarin Geresdlakissa
2014
Opettajien suurin haaste on saada luottamuksellinen yhteistyö …

The Strategic Cognition View of Issue Salience and the Evolution of a Political Issue : Landis & Gyr, the Hungarian Uprising and East-West Trade, 195…
2017
Why do firms facing similar stakeholder issues respond quite differently? The recently introduced strategic cognition view of issue salience and firm responsiveness (hereinafter: issue salience model) seeks to tackle this core question of stakeholder theory. I extend the nascent theorizing with a historical case study in order to rethink the model’s firm-centric perspective. The firm under examination in this historical case study is the Swiss multinational Landis & Gyr (LG) during the Cold War period. Like many other Swiss exportoriented companies in the 1950s and early 1960s, LG was challenged by Swiss pressure groups, which were highly effective at putting an issue on the public agenda: …
Suomalaisten ja unkarilaisten huippujalkapalloilijoiden aseman muutokset 1980-luvulta nykypäiviin
2015
The aim of this article is to increase the understanding of the global and local contexts in football by finding out what complex and interdependent social, cultural and economic dimensions seem to shape periphery football. More specifically, the differences and similarities of Finnish and Hungarian elite youth football clubs in the 2010s are discussed. The theoretical framework is formulated within the social sciences of sport around the globalization of football. The main sources of data are interviews with football practitioners as well as popular publications on Finnish, Hungarian, and international football. The data were analysed with thematic content analysis. It was found that the co…
"Az igazság ismérve az, hogy igaz" : etika és nemzeti identitás Sütő András "Anyám könnyű álmot ígér" című művében és annak recepcio…
2008
The present work consists of three parts. The introduction outlines the basic ideas of narrative ethics and narrative identity theory, which serve as tools for the close reading of András Sütő s Anyám könnyű álmot ígér and its literary critical reception. The reasons for choosing these theories and the topics of ethics and national identity are also given here: the main argument is that, since both the analyzed literary work and its reception interweaves in a narrative form the question of moral principles with that of Hungarian identity, a narrative ethical approach on the construction of identity in the texts in question can be relevant. As far as the question of opting for revisiti…
