Teaching of Finnish at the University of Debrecen has, at least so far, suc-cessfully taken part in the Bologna Process. In the new curriculum, Finnish studies is a 50 ECTS module in Bachelor’s degree and has an own MA programme. In language teaching, above all, communicative skills are aimed at. Diplomatic and cultural ties between South Korea and Hungary were established more than 25 years ago. In 1988, the Department of Hungarian Studies was created at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Since its creation, this major workshop of Hungarian studies has become one of the most important supporters and symbols of friendly relations between the two countries.
