The influence of Kinesiology Taping on the volume of lymphoedema and manual dexterity of the upper limb in women after breast cancer treatment.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of Kinesiology Taping (KT) on the size of lymphoedema and manual dexterity of the upper limb in women after breast cancer treatment. We also examined whether the application of KT can replace the traditional and standard multilayered bandaging in the treatment of upper extremity lymphoedema. Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) is already prevalent in dental students despite their young age and the short duration of dental practice. The current findings state that the causes of MSD are related to posture during dental work. This study aims to investigate the ergonomic risk of dental students. In order to analyze the ergonomic risk of dental students, 3D motion analyses were performed with inertial sensors during the performance of standardized dental activities. Video-assisted two-stage basilic vein transposition for creation of brachio-basilic arteriovenous fistulae

We report our experience in a mixed minimally-in- vasive technique for the two-stage transposition of basilic vein on a small series of eight patients. The operative tech- nique consisted of a modified endoscopic (1) approach for the two-stage transposition (2). The intervention was performed under Brachial Plexus Block (3).

Objective The objective of this prospective randomized study of cases and controls was to evaluate the efficacy of treatment with low-frequency spinal cord stimulation (LF-SCS) and 10 kHz spinal cord stimulation (10-kHz SCS) in patients diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome type I (CRPS) with upper limb involvement. Materials and methods Fifty patients were randomized to receive conventional treatment or SCS with a commercially available low-frequency or 10-kHz system. Ultrasound has been reported to be a quick, cheap, and effective imaging modality to guide the interventional procedures in the musculoskeletal system. The use of ultrasound results in increased accuracy of needle placement associated with a reduction of complications. In the upper limb, ultrasound-guided procedures are applied to joints and soft tissues around the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. This article reviews the clinical and technical aspects of the most common procedures performed in this anatomic area.

Introduction Injuries are the major cause of morbidity and loss of active training days in military populations. Previous investigations have mainly focused on lower extremities. This study evaluated the incidence, diagnosis, and risk factors of upper extremity injuries requiring hospitalization in a large cohort of Finnish conscripts during a 5-year period.
