Research on periurbanisation’s factors, a phenomenon that has greatly contributed to the demographic growth of French rural areas for the last twenty-five years, leads us to ask about the determinants of residential location in rural areas of people working in a town. In order to answer this question, it is necessary to transpose residential location models usually used at the scale of the town - models which are the basis of the New Urban Economics school - to periurban areas. In the THÜNEN tradition, Urban Economy is a striking abstraction, giving models that keep the main features of the wide diversity of real word cities. Nevertheless, this paradigm less suits the modern urban spatial structures (polycentrism, weak centripetal forces, etc.), particularly the peri-urban form of metropolitan areas, which are an urban/rural integrated space. Les contraintes économiques et environnementales actuelles impliquent un besoin de maîtrise de la demande d’énergie du secteur résidentiel. Pour parvenir à cette fin, il est nécessaire d’identifier les déterminants de la consommation d’énergie des ménages puis de trouver des solutions pour réduire la demande d’énergie. Les travaux présentés dans la thèse portent sur le rôle des choix de localisation des ménages dans la formation de la demande d’énergie du secteur résidentiel et s’intéresse à la valeur verte comme outil de promotion des biens immobiliers énergétiquement efficaces.
