Objective To describe the immediate effects of ischemic compression (IC) as a trigger point therapy in a case of a patient with neck pain. The application of IC is a safe and effective method to successfully treat elicited myofascial trigger points. The purpose of this method is to deliberate the blockage of blood in a trigger point area in order to increase local blood flow. This washes away waste products, supplies necessary oxygen and helps the affected tissue to heal. In this case study, we treated a 27-year-old female patient with a medical report of neck pain for at least four months. Inhibition of human detrusor contraction by a urothelium derived factor.

Stimulating muscarinic receptors in pig bladder urothelium causes the release of a diffusable factor that inhibits contractions of the underlying detrusor muscle. We investigated whether the contractions of human detrusor strips elicited by the muscarinic agonist carbachol, electrical field stimulation, KCl or the neurokinin receptor agonist neurokinin A are affected by the urothelium.Paired intact and urothelium denuded muscle strips were placed in modified gassed Tyrode's solution at 37C. Si presentano i risultati dello scavo e degli studi condotti su l'ipogeo P di Agrigento. Si tratta dell'unico ipogeo paleocristiano interamente indagato e studiato nell'ambito della collaborazione tra Università degli studi di Palermo e Parco archeologico e paesaggistico della Valle dei Templi. L'ipogeo ha avuto una lunga utilizzazione a scopo funerario dal Iv a tutto il VII secolo; quindi rientra nel processo di abbandono e distruzione del cimitero cristiano e di rifunzionalizzazione di alcuni spazi dello stesso per l'impianto di una officina ceramica medievale.

En este territorio, a diferencia de otros ámbitos, los jardines unifamiliares se asocian a las urbanizaciones que se han ido configurando desde 1960 a raíz de la expansión del denominado turismo residencial. Los objetivos de esta investigación son identificar las principales características de los jardines unifamiliares y, a partir de ellas, estimar sus necesidades hídricas y determinar el volumen de agua doméstico consumido por el jardín en el hogar. High-pressure and high-temperature X-ray diffraction studies of scheelite BaWO4

International audience; We carried out high-pressure (HP) and high-temperature (HT) in situ ADXRD synchrotron measurements in barium tungstate (BaWO4 ) up to 7.5 GPa and 800 K. Coexistence of the scheelite and fergusonite structures was found beyond 7 GPa, both at room temperature and HT, suggesting a polymorphism zone in the P –T phase diagram. The experiments are complemented by thermodynamic calculations within the quasi-harmonic approximation. At ambient pressure, a volume thermal expansivity of 9.5 × 10− 6 K−1 was obtained for scheelite BaWO4 . At HP, the thermal expansivity of the fergusonite doubles that of scheelite.
