Osseous metaplasia in the uterine cavity is a rare phenomenon arising from an unusual transformation of non-osseous connective tissue into mature bone. It is unclear how this alteration occurs and it has no single clinical manifestation. We report a case of asymptomatic endometrial osseous metaplasia of the isthmus with a singular picture: numerous long, floating bone-like structures in the cavity. The lesion was treated by operative hysteroscopy. Histological findings described a rare picture of true osseous metaplasia with the extraordinary presence of cells referable to areas of hematopoietic tissue in the cavities of trabecular bone. Endoscopy and ultrasound was used to diagnose a 13 year old virgin girl who presented with dysmenorrhoea and suspected right side adnexal tumescence. The girl was found to have a complete septate uterus with non-communicating right hemicavity and haematometra, an exceptional type of Mullerian anomaly. After pretreatment with buserelin, hysteroscopic metroplasty was successfully performed.

Previous studies in an experimental mouse model of endometriosis have shown that the dopamine agonist (DA) cabergoline (Cb2) reduces angiogenesis and endometriotic lesions, hypothetically binding to the dopamine receptor type-2 (DRD2). To date, this has not been described in human endometrium and/or endometriotic lesions. Thus, we aimed to investigate the presence of DRD2 in said tissues. Abstract We report a case of a woman affected by covered exstrophy, uterus didelphys and external genital malformation presenting with advanced bladder cancer. After neoadjuvant therapy and anterior pelvic exenteration, the abdominal wall was reconstructed with a pedicled myocutaneous muscle-sparing vastus lateralis flap.

The effects of ouabain and K(+)-free solution were studied in estrogen-primed rat uterine strips under resting tone or repeatedly stimulated with KCl, acetylcholine or oxytocin applied for 20 minutes at 60 minute intervals. These effects were compared with those of the K+ channel opener cromakalim. In preparations under resting tone, ouabain (0.1 mM and 0.3 mM) induced rhythmic contractions which disappeared after 20-30 minutes whereas at a higher concentration (1 mM) it evoked a rapid, phasic response followed by a small tonic contraction.
