Potassium (K+) is involved in the regulation of cellular excitability, cell cycle regulation, cell viability, neuroprotection and maintenance of microglial and oligodendrocytic functions. Potassium dysfunction, described in several neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease (AD), multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease, may be a potential therapeutic target. The Translesion Polymerase Rev3L in the Tolerance of Alkylating Anticancer Drugs

Temozolomide and fotemustine, representing methylating and chloroethylating agents, respectively, are used in the treatment of glioma and malignant melanoma. Because chemoresistance of these tumors is a common phenomenon, identification of the underlying mechanisms is needed. Here we show that Rev3L, the catalytic subunit of the translesion DNA polymerase zeta, mediates resistance to both temozolomide and fotemustine. Rev3L knockout cells are hypersensitive to both agents. It is remarkable that cells heterozygous for Rev3L showed an intermediate sensitivity. Pētījuma mērķis: Izpētīt alternatīvas mašīntulkošanas arhitektūras, pielietojot jaunas pieejas, lai izveidotu angļu-latviešu tulkotāju un apvienot attēlu ar teikumu matricu vienā modelī. Nozīmīgākie rezultāti: Darba ietvaros tika uztrēnēti dažādi mašīntulkotāji. Viens balstās uz «transformer» arhitektūru. Šis modeļis uztrenēts pilnīgi no jauna. Otrs mašīntulkotājs balstās uz pretrenētiem modeliem. Darbā tika salīdzinātas dažādas pieejas un tika izvēlēts labākais pretrenēts modelis XLM-R, uz kura bāzes izveidots tulkotājs.
