El propòsit del present treball és analitzar el contingut propagandístic de l’obra de teatre amb el títol de Comedia famosa en que se representa el asedio o sitio de Peñíscola, que versa sobre el cerco a eixa fortalesa valenciana (desembre de 1705 a maig de 1707) durant la Guerra de Successió. Como esdevé en altres textos propis de la publicística borbònica, la finalitat adoctrinadora de l’obra es concentra en la legitimació de Felipe V mitjançant la identificació de la seua causa con la de la Providència, així com en la crítica a l’arxiduc Carles i els seus aliats, en un context de pugna por l’opinió entre los dos bàndols. The parameterisation of the atmospheric aerosol optical depth using the Ångström power law

Abstract We have analysed the ability of the Angstrom power law to model the spectral aerosol optical depth, τaλ, for the 400–670 nm band, obtained from spectral direct irradiance measurements at normal incidence. The spectra were registered at ground level in Valencia, Spain, using a Li-cor 1800 spectroradiometer. The results obtained showed that the fitting method that introduces lower errors in the determination of the Angstrom power law coefficients is to adjust directly the spectral experimental data. In this way the errors obtained for the turbidity coefficient, β, were about 0.004 and for the wavelength exponent, α, 0.07. The correlation coefficient was always greater than 0.95. Thes…

In order to increase in Spain the social interest in the study of interplanetary matter (asteroids, comets and meteoroids) we created the Spanish Photographic Meteor Network (SPMN) in 1997. This network has been dedicated to studying interplanetary matter with participation of researchers from three universities (Universitat Jaume I, Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat de Valencia), the Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia and it is also supported by the Atmospheric Sounding Station at El Arenosillo (INTA-CEDEA) and by the Experimental Station La Mayora (EELM-CSIC). A comparative study of SPCTRAL2 and SMARTS2 parameterised models based on spectral irradiance measurements at Valencia, Spain

Abstract Results obtained using the parametric models SPCTRAL2 and SMARTS2 for the urban area of Valencia, Spain, have been analysed and compared with experimental measurements at ground level obtained with two Li-cor 1800 spectroradiometers with a 6 nm resolution. The study used two different input parameters in both models for the aerosol characterisation: the aerosol optical thickness at 0.5 μ m, τ a λ (0.5) , and the Angstrom turbidity coefficient β . The results obtained show that both algorithms reproduce quite correctly the spectral irradiance experimental values when an urban aerosol model parameterised by the τ a λ (0.5) value is considered. Abstract XRF analysis has allowed a quick and precise detection and identification of the inorganic elements that compose the yellow pigments in altarpieces of the XV and XVI centuries painted by the Valencian artists Miguel Alcaniz, Vicente Macip, Juan de Juanes, Hernando Yanez de la Almedina and Hernando Llanos. The analyses have been carried out with an XRF portable system that consists of a tube of X-rays and detectors of Si(Li) and cadmium zinc telluride.
