MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF ULTRAVIOLET SOLAR IRRADIATION IN VALENCIA, SPAIN

Experimental data concerning the integrated total ultraviolet radiation (290–385 nm band) on a horizontal surface measured at Valencia (Spain) during the period March 1991 to December 1994 have been analysed. A study of the most representative statistical indexes: arithmetic mean (M), median (Md), standard deviation (SD), maximum (Mx), minimum (Mn), first (Q1) and third (Q3) quartiles, percentiles 5 (P5) and 95 (P95), interquartile range (Q3 –Q1) and coefficient of quartile variation (V), of the UV radiation for this period has been carried out. Ratio of UV to global broad band irradiation in Valencia, Spain

This paper presents the results of an analysis of 6 years of measurements of UV and broad band irradiation values in Valencia, Spain. Hourly and daily integrated UV irradiance, ITUV, measured by a TUVR Eppley radiometer, and global irradiance IT from a Kipp-Zonen CM-11 pyranometer, were highly correlated, with ITUV/IT percentages varying from 2.9% to 3.5% for hourly values and from 2.9% to 3.4% for daily values. If a general linear relation ITUV=mIT is considered, the correlation coefficient r is always greater than 0.96 for hourly values and 0.91 for daily values. Incorporation of aerosol effects in a clear-sky semi-empirical model of UVER radiation for Valencia, Spain

The study develops a simple but physically based model for estimating erythemal irradiance [(UV erythemal radiation (UVER)] for cloudless urban regions with substantial aerosol load, such as that of the Valencia environment in Spain. The model estimates direct and diffuse UVER for cloudless aerosol-free conditions using the LibRadtran model with a DISORT algorithm. Aerosol optical thickness for UVER (τaER) is obtained as a residual term by comparing measured direct UVER against modelled direct UVER in the absence of aerosol load. Fine-scale estimations of bioclimatic change in the Valencia region, Spain

Recent advances in statistical downscaling have allowed the reconstruction of temperatures for the complete 1948–2011 period in a spatial resolution of 90 m and without gaps for the Valencian Community (Spain) and bordering areas. It presently enables analyses in this region, which allows the determination of recent temperature changes at subregional and local scales. The present work focuses on obtaining the thermicity index according to Rivas-Martínez, a well-known indicator of different thermotypes associated with bioclimatic horizons. Comparison of global ultraviolet (290–385 nm) and global irradiation measured during the warm season in valencia, spain

This paper studies data of ultraviolet (290–385 nm band) horizontal solar irradiation and global horizontal solar irradiation measured at Valencia (Spain) during the period March 1991 to September 1991. Analysis of error estimations and correlation coefficients show that the 10 minute, hourly, and daily values of ultraviolet (UV) and global irradiation are highly correlated. Improved figures and less dependence on location are achieved by defining a clearness index for the UV 290–385 nm band and relating it to the conventional whole-band clearness index. Statistical downscaling and attribution of air temperature change patterns in the Valencia region (1948–2011)

This study is based on the statistical downscaling and spatial interpolation of high-resolution temperatures (90 m) over the 1948–2011 period performed for the Valencia Region (east Iberian Peninsula) after considering local topographical factors in the fine-scale distribution of temperatures. The objective was to detect the areas that were potentially more vulnerable to air temperature change. This allowed the detection of local climate change patterns, which were analyzed and found to be consistent in spatial and temporal terms. Analysis of the authors’ rights collection frontier using PCA-MDEA: an application to the Valencia region

The aim of this paper is to estimate the authors’ rights collection frontier within the collection zones into which the Valencia Region (Spain) has been divided. To be more exact, a nonparametric frontier technique (Modified Data Envelopment Analysis, MDEA) and the Principal Components Analysis (PCA) are jointly employed to map out an initial approach to the potential authors’ rights collection within this region (as divided into collection zones). Análisis de los niveles de estrés en un grupo de maestros con alumnos diagnosticados con trastorno del espectro autista

espanolObjetivo y metodo: se analiza si un grupo de maestros que tienen en el aula alumnos diagnosticados de trastornos del espectro del autismo (TEA) presentan un nivel mas elevado de estres que los que no los tienen. Los participantes (N=16) proceden de un centro publico de la Comunidad Valenciana. El instrumento utilizado es la Esca-la ED-6. Resultados: el estudio revela que los maestros que ensenan a ninos con TEA tienen un nivel de estres mayor que los maestros que trabajan con ninos sin necesidades especificas de apoyo educativo. Ayudas y beneficiarios en la multa al Valencia

En el articulo se razona el por qué es injusto que sea el Valencia CF el que deba de asumir en exclusiva el pago de la restitución que le exige la Comisión Europea por una ayuda ilegal dispensada por el Instituto Valenciano de Financias a una entidad para que ésta pudiera comprar un paquete accionarial en una ampliación de capital del propio Valencia. La ayuda se dispensó a la entidad que compró las acciones y sin embargo, ahora la comisión europea dice que el beneficiado es el Valencia CF porque gracias a ello se capitalizó. Los autores discuten esta decisión.
