Modeling temporal and spatial colony‐site dynamics in a long‐lived seabird

We studied the determinants of colony site dynamics in Audouin's gull, Larus audouinii, breeding in a small archipelago of the western Mediterranean. Data on island occupation were available for a series of 25 years, since first colonization of the archipelago in 1973. Group behavior was studied in relation to the components of dispersal: permanence or abandonment (extinction) on an island previously occupied and permanence or occupation (colonization) of another island. Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs) were used to identify the relative contribution of each explanatory variable to the probability of colony abandonment. This article conducts a brief summary of the establishment and the activities developed by the Aula de Historia y Memoria Democratica of the Universitat de Valencia. Furthermore, this article proposes to have a general reflection on the history, the memory and public policies in the province of Valencia from this academic structure. Especially, we intend to reflect on the implementation of public policies on memory related to the periods of the Second Republic, the Civil War and the Franco dictatorship; as well as the political change of the 2015-2019 legislature.

Resumen. Todas las lenguas muestran variación, tanto desde el punto de vista geográfico como social, y su aprendizaje siempre se produce a través de una de sus variedades geográficas. Hay zonas en que el español convive con otras lenguas, y esto le da una serie de características especiales que el profesor de español como lengua extranjera debe conocer y explicar a sus alumnos. En este trabajo, analizamos algunas interferencias lingüísticas que se producen entre español y valenciano, variedad del catalán que se habla en Valencia, y proponemos algunas actividades didácticas para su aprovechamiento en las clases de ELE.Palabras clave. Paracrobeles psammophilus sp. nov. (Nematoda: Cephalobidae) is described from soil of the Dehesa de El Saler (province of Valencia, Spain). This is the second record of a species of the genus Paracrobeles Heyns, 1968. The new species is characterized by rounded cheilorhabdions and the large spicules and gubernaculum of males.

The behavior and spatial distribution of crime events can be explained through the characterization of an area in terms of its demography, socioeconomy, and built environment. In particular, recent studies on the incidence of crime in a city have focused on the identification of features of the built environment (specific places or facilities) that may increase crime risk within a certain radius. We seek to clarify the political terminology and meaning of what is contained in the Valencian Statute in the light of the (far more developed and diverse) doctrinal and jurisprudential contributions to arise from the demands of other autonomous communities. This is necessary after the 2006 reform of the Valencian Statute, due to the tendency towards historical law evident therein, and is also essential if progress is to be made towards the constitutional reform that will bring to a close the evolution of the Autonomous State into an ordered Federal State.
SOX : short distance neutrino oscillations with Borexino

Abstract The Borexino detector has convincingly shown its outstanding performance in the in the sub-MeV regime through its unprecedented accomplishments in the solar and geo-neutrinos detection, which make it the ideal tool to unambiguously test the long-standing issue of the existence of a sterile neutrino, as suggested by several anomalies: the outputs of the LSND and Miniboone experiments, the results of the source calibration of the two Gallium solar ν experiments, and the recently hinted reactor anomaly.
