Abstract After almost three decades since the insertion of Catalan (Valencian) within the Valencian education system, its use hasn’t spread through all of the geographical domains and social scopes. In a context of language minorisation, an actual usage of a language is not guaranteed by just acquiring a sounder language competence. For a start we take into consideration a hipothesis defending that even though a comprehension of the goal culture in L2 is not just necessary for a significant use of the language within its society, we also have to realise the importance of the cultural import when using L1. Abstract Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are prevalent in the migrant population with increased years of residency in the host country. In this regard, health education and lifestyle interventions have proven to be cost-effective modifying risk factors. The Spanish pilot of the Mig-HealthCare project directly aims to reduce the prevalence of NCDs reducing the well-known “healthy migrant effect” by increasing the levels of health literacy and also turning the lifestyles of the participants into healthier habits in the host country. ResumenLa pelota valenciana es uno de los antiguos juegos de pelota a mano que perdura en la Comunidad Valenciana. Para amortiguar los impactos de la pelota durante el golpeo, los jugadores se confeccionan sus propias protecciones. En torno a ellas existen diversos factores que dificultan la práctica segura y eficaz de este deporte: el excesivo tiempo empleado en su elaboración, el elevado número de lesiones que sufren en las manos o el inadecuado control de la pelota que consiguen.
