In this work, partial information decomposition (PID) was applied to the time series of heart rate and EEG amplitude variability to investigate the dynamical interactions in brain-heart coupling before and after epileptic seizures. Purpose: The present study examined the agreement between HR-derived indices obtained over different recording situations (morning upon waking, in the lab, and during nocturnal measurements). Changes in DC-potential were examined following a high-intensity training (HIT) week by comparing them to a control week. The work of rescuers can be physically and psychologically very demanding so it is important for them to have sufficient recovery between work shifts. The purpose of this thesis was to study recovery of rescuers and to see if physical fitness is associated with recovery from work shifts. Heart rate variability (HRV) recordings reflect changes in the autonomic nervous system, and they were used for the analysis of stress and recovery.
