Fifty Years of International Catholic–Lutheran Dialogue: Much Consensus, Little Fellowship?

This article presents an overview and an assessment of the international Catholic–Lutheran dialogue through fifty years. During the process, a theological rapprochement that few had dreamt of when the work began has been manifested. In the text Facing Unity (1984), even a detailed plan for a processual realization of Catholic–Lutheran church fellowship is sketched. However, this plan has not been implemented, and the achieved doctrinal convergence has not been transformed into concrete forms of unity. The author also seeks to uncover some of the main causes of this impasse, largely reflecting challenges in contemporary ecumenism.

The last few years an increasing number of Muslim women have found a clear voice in the public sphere in Norway. Research into Islam confirms that Muslims, especially Muslim women, are presented in media in a way that is unrecognizable to themselves. The debates in the media surrounding Islam, especially the hijab controversy in both 2004 and 2009, have centered around gender equality, collective peer pressure vs individual freedom, and the urge to be made visible vs invisibility. This article provides scholars of nonreligion and secularism with an introduction to some of the major opportunities and challenges associated with the growing application of computational methods to the phenomena they study. It also illustrates these opportunities and challenges by describing several overlapping research projects and some of the models of (non)religion they have produced. Finally, the article addresses some of the significant philosophical issues surrounding the use of computer modeling and simulation, focusing on the ethical and epistemological concerns that these tools often raise. AbstractHow might philosophy of religion be impacted by developments in computational modeling and social simulation? After briefly describing some of the content and context biases that have shaped traditional philosophy of religion, this article provides examples of computational models that illustrate the explanatory power of conceptually clear and empirically validated causal architectures informed by the bio-cultural sciences. Each individual constructs his own private worldview using elements from established worldview traditions. The biographical character of this formation makes this the individual’s “Unique Worldview Construction” (UWC). The purpose of this theoretical study is to analyse the dynamic relationship between the individual and her own UWC. It describes more how than what he believes in or denies. Kritiske ytringer om pave Frans framsettes som regel på konservativt og tradisjonalistisk katolsk hold. Denne artikkelen sikter på å presentere en progressivt fundert kritikk av det nåværende pontifikatet. Frans krediteres for gode intensjoner, pastoralt lederskap og motstand mot klerikalistiske holdninger. Men da han ikke har maktet – og kanskje heller ikke tilstrekkelig klart ønsket – å endre kirkens utdaterte hierarkiske struktur, er han ingen løsning på de store utfordringene Den katolske kirke lenge har stått overfor. Artikkelen har et aktuelt og kritisk sikte, og den preges i større grad av normative vurderinger enn mange andre faglige bidrag i dag.

Artikkelen belyser unge muslimer og kristnes forhandling av kjønn i migrantmenigheter: 1) Hvordan forhandler unge muslimer og kristne forventningene knyttet til kjønn, forbundet med religiøse klesdrakter og kjønnsdelte arbeidsoppgaver? Og 2), hva kan ungdommenes oppfatninger av religiøse koder og kjønnsdelte arbeidsoppgaver fortelle om symbolsk grensedragning mellom deres tilhørighet til en minoritetsgruppe og tilhørighet til majoritetssamfunnet? Data består av 23 kvalitative intervjuer med tenåringer og unge voksne i alderen 16–35 år. Skolen som reformasjonsprosjekt i Norge på 1500–tallet

Artikkelen undersøker latinskolens utvikling i Norge de første 70 årene etter innføringen av reformasjonen. Brudd og kontinuitet med middelalderskolen drøftes. Skiftet av styringsstruktur fra kirken til kongen og embetsverket fremheves som det største bruddet. Til tross for at latinskolen var den viktigste presteutdanningsinstitusjonen på 1500–tallet, ble den ikke en ren kirkeskole. Jeg argumenterer mot oppfatninger om at skolen forandret seg lite, og at reformasjonen virket negativt inn på den. Tvert om viser jeg at latinskolene ble utbygd og fikk stor betydning for implementeringen av selve trosskiftet. Jeg argumenterer også for at skolene i Norge kunne være tjent med sentralstyringen.
