2014

This article explores the kind of critical and reflective thinking taht influences the social and health care professionals in the Individual Plan process. An inter-professional group of six healthcare and social researchers collected the data, which consisted of indepth interviews with 12 service providers who were the clients´ coordinators and one day centre leader. By focusing on reflective thinking in a critical perspective, it is concluded that coordinators are guided by different philosophical and theoretical perspectives in this process; a mixture of reasoning strategies, caring as a relational concept and a mixture of philosophical frameworks. INTELLIGENT ROBOTIC REHABILITATION THROUGH A HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION : A starting point for a robotic infrastructure which can be an aid for physioth…

2021

Master's thesis in Mechatronics (MAS500) This thesis contains a starting point for a robotic infrastructure which can be an aid for physiotherapists by issuing and adjusting assistive or resistive exercises. With added equipment for specialized operations, the Halodi EVEr3 Robot could be utilized as a basis for this kind of infrastructure. When a physiotherapist is performing a lower extremity rehabilitative movement on a patient, theEVEr3 robot could record this behaviour and mimic it for a desired number of repetitions. The design of a prototype is thought to be done safely as a collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Adequate vitamin B12 and folate status of Norwegian vegans and vegetarians

2022

AbstractPlant-based diets may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency due to limited intake of animal-source foods, while dietary folate increases when adhering to plant-based diets. In this cross-sectional study, we evaluated the B12 and folate status of Norwegian vegans and vegetarians using dietary B12 intake, B12 and folic acid supplement use, and biomarkers (serum B12 (B12), plasma total homocysteine (tHcy), plasma methylmalonic acid (MMA) and serum folate). Vegans (n 115) and vegetarians (n 90) completed a 24-h dietary recall and a FFQ and provided a non-fasting blood sample. cB12, a combined indicator for evaluation of B12 status, was calculated. B12 status was adequate in both v…

Change and stability: Within-person life satisfaction over a 20-year period using data from the HUNT survey

2020

Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate within-person life satisfaction (LS) dynamics for two age groups, 20–29 and 30–39 years, from 1984 to 1986 and to follow them over a 20-year period. Methods: Data from 1984 to 2008 were extracted from the large, prospective, longitudinal North-Trøndelag Health Study (HUNT), Norway. This paper includes data from more than 14,500 persons. Data were analysed using logistic regression, and LS dynamics were modelled using gender, time and self-rated health. Results: The analyses revealed that about 20% of people in these age groups had a stable level in LS, also known as set point. Long-term LS change, defined as ⩾2 SDs, was reported f…
