LHC phenomenology of the μνSSM
2009
The $\mu\nu$SSM has been proposed to solve simultaneously the $\mu$-problem of the MSSM and explain current neutrino data. The model breaks lepton number as well as R-parity. In this paper we study the phenomenology of this proposal concentrating on neutrino masses and the decay of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). At first we investigate in detail the $\mu\nu$SSM with one generation of singlets, which can explain all neutrino data, once 1-loop corrections are taken into account. Then we study variations of the model with more singlets, which can generate all neutrino masses and mixings at tree-level. We calculate the decay properties of the lightest supersymmetric particle, assum…
Supersymmetry and CP Violating Asymmetries in $B_{d,s}$ Decays
1999
We study possible effects of supersymmetry (SUSY) in CP asymmetries in non-leptonic $B_{d,s}$ decays in a variety of SUSY flavour models considered in literature. We use both mass insertion and vertex mixing methods to calculate squark-gluino box diagrams contribution to $B_{d,s} - \bar{B}_{d,s}$ mixings. With the squark mixing parameter $\eta=0.22$, and with large new CP phases, it turns out that the CP asymmetries to be measured in upcoming B-factories, HERA-B and LHC-B, can be completely dominated by the SUSY contribution in almost every considered model. Discrimination between the different models can be done by comparing experimental results in different decay modes. In some models squ…
Production of the charmed baryon $\Lambda_{c}^{+}$ in $\pi^{-}$Cu and K$^{-}$Cu interactions at 230 GeV
1990
Abstract We present results from the NA32 experiment at CERN on the production characteristics of the charmed baryon Λ+c in 230 GeV π−Cu and K−Cu interactions. A high resolution vertex detector consisting of change-coupled devices and silicon microstrip detectors allowed the selection of a very clean sample of 154 Λ+c → pK−π+ (and charge conjugate) decays. Results on differential and integrated cross sections are given.
On-shell two-loop three-gluon vertex
1998
The two-loop three-gluon vertex is calculated in an arbitrary covariant gauge, in the limit when two of the gluons are on the mass shell. The corresponding two-loop results for the ghost-gluon vertex are also obtained. It is shown that the results are consistent with the Ward-Slavnov-Taylor identities.
Decay of vector-vector resonances into $\gamma$ and a pseudoscalar meson
2010
We study the decay of dynamically generated resonances from the interaction of two vectors into a $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and a pseudoscalar meson. The dynamics requires anomalous terms involving vertices with two vectors and a pseudoscalar, which renders it special. We compare our result with data on ${K}_{2}^{*+}(1430)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and ${K}_{2}^{*0}(1430)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{0}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and find a good agreement with the data for the ${K}_{2}^{*+}(1430)$ case and a width considerably smaller than the upper bound measured for the ${K}_{2}^{*0}(1430)$ meson. We also investigate the decay into ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ …
Unitary chiral dynamics in J/Psi decays into VPP and the role of the scalar mesons
2004
We make a theoretical study of the $\J$ decays into $\omega\pi\pi$, $\phi\pi\pi$, $\omega K \bar{K}$ and $\phi K\bar{K}$ using the techniques of the chiral unitary approach stressing the important role of the scalar resonances dynamically generated through the final state interaction of the two pseudoscalar mesons. We also discuss the importance of new mechanisms with intermediate exchange of vector and axial-vector mesons and the role played by the OZI rule in the $\J\phi\pi\pi$ vertex, quantifying its effects. The results nicely reproduce the experimental data for the invariant mass distributions in all the channels considered.
Anomalous magnetic moment of the muon in a dispersive approach
2014
We present a new general dispersive formalism for evaluating the hadronic light-by-light scattering contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. In the suggested approach, this correction is related to the imaginary part of the muon's electromagnetic vertex function. The latter may be directly related to measurable hadronic processes by means of unitarity and analyticity. As a test we apply the introduced formalism to the case of meson pole exchanges and find agreement with the direct two-loop calculation.
Exclusive nonleptonic decays of bottom and charm baryons in a relativistic three-quark model: Evaluation of nonfactorizing diagrams
1998
Exclusive nonleptonic decays of bottom and charm baryons are studied within a relativistic three-quark model with a Gaussian shape for the momentum dependence of the baryon-three-quark vertex. We include factorizing as well as nonfactorizing contributions to the decay amplitudes. For heavy-to-light transitions Q -> q u d the total contribution of the nonfactorizing diagrams amount up to approximately 60% of the factorizing contributions in amplitude, and up to approximately 30% for b -> c u d transitions. We calculate the rates and the polarization asymmetry parameters for various nonleptonic decays and compare them to existing data and to the results of other model calculations.
Factorization in closed string field theory
1994
Abstract The so long made assumption, that a general closed-string vertex operator V should be built as a product of left- and right-moving vertex operators, rests on the fact that the closed-string Fock spce is constructed as a tensor product of left- and right-moving open-string Fock spaces. In this letter we will relax this assumption by proving that factorization of closed-string vertices is a general rule.
“RecPack” a reconstruction toolkit
2004
We present a C++ toolkit to do tracking and vertex reconstruction. The toolkit incorporates common fitting methods, as the Kalman Filter, a framework to define a detector setup, a general navigation and a simple simulation. Furthermore, the toolkit provides a collection of interfaces which facilitates the addition of new fitting methods, trajectory models, geometrical objects, pattern recognition logic, etc. Although the toolkit was originally developed to be used in High Energy Physics, it could be applied to other fields.
