Yhteiskunnallisten muutosten myötä myös sukupolvien välisen kanssakäymisen on arvioitu Suomessa vähentyneen. Ajankohtaisena huolenaiheena on pidetty lasten aikuiskontaktien niukkuutta. Tämä herätti kiinnostuksemme tutkia, keitä eri sukupolvia edustavien aikuisten lapsuudenaikaiset merkitykselliset aikuiset ovat olleet ja miten sitä perustellaan. Halusimme myös tietää, onko aikuisilla koettu olleen vaikutuksia omaan elämään. Aihetta on melko vähän varsinkin suomalaisessa yhteydessä tutkittu. Omien tutkimusintressiemme ohella teimme laadullisen tutkimuksemme Jyväskylässä vuosina 2002-2004 toimineen Sukupolvet verkoksi -hankkeen tarpeisiin. Hyvä tasapainon hallinta on tärkeää normaalien päivittäisten askareiden suorittamiseksi. Nuorten tasapainotutkimuksia löytyy vain vähän. Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli tutkia, voiko lapsuus‐ ja nuoruusiän murtumilla ja vartalon huojunnalla aikuisuuden kynnyksellä olla yhteys, ja onko fyysisellä aktiivisuudella, alaraajan voimalla ja kehon koostumuksella yhteys vartalon huojuntaan. Kaikkiaan 212 Jyväskylän seudulla asuvaa tyttöä (keskimääräinen ikä 18.6±1.1) osallistui tutkimukseen. Association between lower extremity muscular strength and acute knee injuries in young team‐sports athletes

The purpose of this study was to investigate LE muscular strength variables as potential risk factors for all and non‐contact acute knee and ACL injuries in young athletes. A total of 188 young (≤21) male and 174 female basketball and floorball players participated in LE muscular strength tests and were followed up to three years. The strength test battery consisted of 1RM leg press, maximal concentric isokinetic (60°/s) quadriceps and hamstrings and maximal isometric hip abductor strength. Levetiracetam‐induced pediatric toxic epidermal necrolysis successfully treated with etanercept

Successful management of toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) with tumor necrosis factor-α inhibitors has been described in adults, but few cases have been reported in children. To date, only four pediatric cases of TEN treated with infliximab and one with etanercept have been published. We present the case of an 8-year-old boy diagnosed with TEN induced by levetiracetam, successfully treated with etanercept, systemic corticosteroids, and intravenous immunoglobulin.
