Summary of golden measurements at a ν-factory
2000
The precision and discovery potential of a neutrino factory based on muon storage rings is summarized. For three-family neutrino oscillations, we analyze how to measure or severely constraint the angle $\theta_{13}$, CP violation, MSW effects and the sign of the atmospheric mass difference $\Delta m^2_{23}$. The appearance of ``wrong-sign muons'' at three reference baselines is considered: 732 km, 3500 km and 7332 km. We exploit the dependence of the signal on the neutrino energy, and include as well realistic background estimations and detection efficiencies. The optimal baseline turns out to be $O$(3000 km).

Search for CP violation in ZmF ττ
1992
Abstract Using the 18.8 pb−1 of data accumulated at LEP in 1990 and 1991 with the ALEPH detector, a direct test of neutral current CP-invariance is performed by a search for CP-odd correlations in Z decays to τ pairs where both τ decay modes are identified. No evidence for CP-violation is observed. The weak dipole moment of the τ has been measured to be dτ(mZ) = (1.3 ± 1.4 ± 0.1) × 10−17 e·cm which results in an upper limit on the weak dipole moment of |dτ(mZ)| ⩽ 3.7 × 10−17 e·cm with 95% confidence level.
Inclusive and exclusive neutrino-nucleus cross sections and the reconstruction of the interaction kinematics
2021
Abstract We present a full kinematic analysis of neutrino-nucleus charged current quasielastic interactions based on the Local Fermi Gas model and the Random Phase Approximation. The model was implemented in the NEUT Monte Carlo framework, which allows us to investigate potentially measurable observables, including hadron distributions. We compare the predictions simultaneously to the most recent T2K and MINERvA charged current (CC) inclusive, CC0π and transverse kinematic-imbalance variable results. We pursuit a microscopic interpretation of the relevant reaction mechanisms, with the aim to achieving in neutrino oscillation experiments a correct reconstruction of the incoming neutrino kine…
On the measurement of leptonic CP violation
2001
We show that the simultaneous determination of the leptonic CP-odd phase $\delta$ and the angle $\theta_{13}$ from the subleading transitions $\nu_e\to\nu_\mu$ and ${\bar\nu}_e\to{\bar\nu}_\mu$ results generically, at fixed neutrino energy and baseline, in two degenerate solutions. In light of this, we refine a previous analysis of the sensitivity to leptonic CP violation at a neutrino factory, in the LMA-MSW scenario, by exploring the full range of $\delta$ and $\theta_{13}$. Furthermore, we take into account the expected uncertainties on the solar and atmospheric oscillation parameters and in the average Earth matter density along the neutrino path. An intermediate baseline of O(3000) km …
Leptonic CP Violation measurement at the neutrino factory
2003
Abstract In this talk, based on the work [J. Burguet Castell, et al., Nucl. Phys. B 608 (2001) 301], we refine our previous analysis [A. Cervera, et al., Nucl. Phys. B 579 (2000) 17] of the sensitivity to leptonic CP violation and θ 13 at a neutrino factory in the LMA-MSW scenario, by exploring the full range of these two parameters. We have discovered that there exist, at fixed neutrino energy, E ν , and baseline, L, degenerate solutions. Although the spectral analysis helps in disentangling fake from true solutions, a leftover product of this degeneracy remains for a realistic detector, which we analyse. Furthermore, we take into account the expected uncertainties on the solar and atmosph…
Neutrino oscillations and new physics
2005
I discuss the theoretical background and the status of neutrino oscillation parameters from the current worlds' global data sample and latest flux calculations. I give their allowed ranges, best fit values and discuss the small parameters and sin2theta13, which characterize CP violation in neutrino oscillations. I mention the significance of neutrinoless double beta decay and current expectations in view of oscillation results.
CP violation and neutrino oscillations
2007
We review the basic mechanisms of neutrino mass generation and the corresponding structure of the lepton mixing matrix. We summarize the status of three-neutrino oscillation parameters as determined from current observations, using state-of-the-art solar and atmospheric neutrino fluxes, as well as latest experimental data as of September 2007. We also comment on recent attempts to account for these results and to understand flavour from first principles. We discuss extensively the prospects for probing the strength of CP violation in two near term accelerator neutrino oscillation experiments, T2K and NOvA, as well as possible extensions such as T2KK and a second large off-axis detector near…
Randall-Sundrum corrections to the width difference andCP-violating phase inBs0-meson decays
2011
We study the impact of the Randall-Sundrum setup on the width difference $\ensuremath{\Delta}{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{s}$ and the $CP$-violating phase ${\ensuremath{\phi}}_{s}$ in the ${\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}$-${B}_{s}^{0}$ system. Our calculations are performed in the general framework of an effective theory, based on operator product expansion. The results can thus be used for many new-physics models. We find that the correction to the magnitude of the decay amplitude ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{12}^{s}$ is below 4% for a realistic choice of input parameters. The main modification in the $\ensuremath{\Delta}{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{s}/{\ensuremath{\beta}}_{s}$-plane is caused by a new $CP$-violati…
A new limit on the CP violating decay KS→3π0 with the KLOE experiment
2013
We have carried out a new direct search for the CP violating decay K-S -> 3 pi(0) with 1.7 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collisions collected by the KLOE detector at the Phi-factory DA Phi NE. We have searched for this decay in a sample of about 5.9 x 10(8) KSKL events tagging the K-S by means of the K-L interaction in the calorimeter and requiring six prompt photons. With respect to our previous search, the analysis has been improved by increasing of a factor four the tagged sample and by a more effective background rejection of fake K-S tags and spurious clusters. We find no candidates in data and simulated background samples, while we expect 0.12 standard model events. Normalizing to the number of …
