This study is the first to describe and illustrate the dinoflagellate genus Dicroerisma in the Mediterranean Sea. Twenty individuals ascribed to Dicroerisma psilonereiella were encountered. The highest abundance (12 cells L-1) was recorded in the Balearic Sea at 50 m depth. Other specimens were found in subsurface waters (>75 m depth, with some records at 250 m depth) in the Ionian and Levantine Basin. These findings suggest that Dicroerisma is a widespread genus and its presence has gone unnoticed due to its small size, deep water distribution and misidentification with other gymnodinioid cells.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that negatively regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level, and they have been described as being associated with tumor prognosis. Here, miRNA profiling was planned to explore new molecular prognostic biomarkers in localized intestinal high-risk GIST. Paraffin tumor blocks of 14 and 86 patients were used in the discovery and expansion sets, respectively. In 1963, 1964 and 1967, in broadcasted interviews, reviews or novels, Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet wrote about Johnny Hallyday, the star and his songs. Their views on him are always kind, and thus greatly differ from the opinion the so-called « intellectuels » of the time had on the young singer. Read in comparison with Daniel Rondeau's novel about Johnny, which is itself based on these previous texts, « LouisElsa »'s textual materials about Johnny are intertwined works who give Johnny some legitimacy, while furnishing matter for literary creation.

Abstract We present in this paper an experimental and theoretical modelling study of the switching characteristics and electro-optic behaviour of chevron surface stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal cells with planar (low pre-tilt) and non-planar (high pre-tilt) surface conditions. The visible polarized light transmission spectra were taken of the cells with glass plates coated with films of either rubbed polymer or obliquely evaporated silicon monoxide (SiO) at various applied voltages and in various stages of switching and compared with the theoretical values calculated numerically based on our director-polarization structure model for the aforementioned cells.
