Complex singularities in KdV solutions

In the small dispersion regime, the KdV solution exhibits rapid oscillations in its spatio-temporal dependence. We show that these oscillations are caused by the presence of complex singularities that approach the real axis. We give a numerical estimate of the asymptotic dynamics of the poles.

En este trabajo se analiza la introducción de nuevas metodologías docentes a título experimental en un curso de contabilidad financiera. Las nuevas técnicas empleadas en clase han sido de varios tipos: mapas conceptuales, crucigramas, técnica del "puzzle" o aprendizaje cooperativo y test on-line, entre otras. Concretamente, se analiza la mejora en el rendimiento de los estudiantes mediante la comparación con resultados de otros años. In this chapter, we focus on the 60 KDa Heat Shock Protein (Hsp60) and discuss some of its biological, molecular and pathological features. The structural and mechanistic aspect of the Hsp60 folding cycle will be also presented. We further illustrate how Hsp60 may be involved in many diseases and therefore considered as an effective therapeutic or theranostic target. Finally, the state-of-the-art on the development of Hsp60 and bacterial GroEL inhibitors and modulators of their expression will be illustrated.
