This phenomenon, termed COVID-19-associated coagulopathy (CC), is now considered a major component of the pathophysiology of this novel infectious disease, leading to widespread thrombosis. Patients and Methods We performed a prospective observational study of a randomly selected cohort of consecutive patients hospitalized for COVID-19 infection between March 8, 2020 through April 25, 2020. Evolution of the optimal catalytic systems for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane: The role of adsorption in the catalytic performance

Three samples that correspond to the evolution of optimal catalytic systems for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane have been synthesized and compared in terms of catalytic behavior and adsorption properties: (i) vanadium oxide supported on alumina, (ii) Sn-promoted NiO, and (iii) multicomponent MoVTeNbO with the M1 structure. The main difference in catalytic performance lies in the extent of the overoxidation of the ethylene formed, following the order VOx/Al2O3 > NiSnOx > MoVTeNb-M1. Accordingly, the selectivity to ethylene at medium and high ethane conversion follows the order MoVTeNb-M1 > NiSnOx > VOx/Al2O3. One hundred and twenty six samples of fresh pork sausages were analysed-for the presence of verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli (VTEC). Selective enrichment followed by DNA extraction and PCR amplification of the stx1 and stx2 genes highlighted the occurrence of the above mentioned genes in 20 out of 126 samples screened. From the stx positive enriched cultures, isolation was performed on CT-SMAC agar plates after immuno-magnetic separation of E. coli O157. Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) frequently complicates the course of hematologic malignancies (HM) and its incidence is similar to that observed in high-risk solid tumors. Despite that, pharmacologic prophylaxis and treatment of VTE in patients with HM is challenging, mainly because a severe thrombocytopenia frequently complicates the course of treatments or may be present since diagnosis, thus increasing the risk of bleeding. Therefore, in this setting, safe and effective methods of VTE prophylaxis and treatment have not been well defined and hematologists generally refer to guidelines produced for cancer patients that give indications on anticoagulation in patients with thrombocytopenia. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas saistības starp ieslodzīto likumpārkāpēju (vīriešu) dzīvesspēka, vainas izjūtas atribūciju un soda uztveri, kā arī mainīgo lielumu atšķirības atkarībā no nozieguma veida. Pētījums tika veikts sadarbībā ar Ieslodzījuma vietu pārvaldi. Izlasē tika iekļauti 42 latviešu valodā runājoši nosacīti notiesāti pilngadīgi vīrieši. No pārtikas produktiem izolētu E.coli virulences gēnu, serogrupu un antibiotiku jutīguma izpēte

Šajā pētījumā 72 E.coli paraugiem, kas izolēti no gaļas produktiem un diedzētiem graudiem, tika noteikta vtx1, vtx2 un eaeA gēnu klātbūtne, serogrupu sadalījums un antibiotiku rezistence. 91.67% paraugi nesaturēja nevienu no virulences gēniem, 8.33% saturēja intimīna gēnu (eaeA), no tiem 2,78% saturēja arī vtx1. Serogrupēšanas rezultātā tika atklāts, ka 29,17% paraugu nav konstatētas verotoksīnus producējošas serogrupas, 44,43% tika konstatēta O121 serogrupa, 9,71% - O103, 12,50% - pašaglutinējoši, 1,39% - serogrupas O26, O145 un O142. Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 37 lapām, satur 5 attēlus, 4 grafikus un 2 pielikumus. Darba mērķis: novērtēt, cik ļoti nogurums spēj ietekmēt koncentrēšanās spējas un vārdu atpazīšanu, un kā izmainās atbildes sniegšanas laiks. Metode: tika izmantota datorrprogramma, kas sastāvejā no 192 vārdu pāriem. Tests tika pildīts no rīta un vakarā. Secinājumi: vidējais atbildes reakcijas laiks ir atšķirīgs dažādos diennakts laikos.
