Based on a case study from the Chimanimani National Reserve in Mozambique, this article analyses to what extent different types of operational practices can contribute to the sustainability of protected areas in relatively unfavourable external conditions. While current conservation policies highlight community participation and market-based approaches, the same “best practices” are not equally valid under different conditions. Pro gradu -tutkielmassani tarkastelen henkilökohtaisten avustajien motiiveja hakeutua alalle ja henkilökohtaisten avustajien kokemuksia avustajan ja avustettavan välisistä suhteista. Tutkimus liittyy yhteiskunnalliseen asiayhteyteen. Tämä tutkimus on kvalitatiivinen, teoriasidonnainen tutkimus. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu kolmentoista henkilökohtaisen avustajan kyselylomakkeen vastauksista. Lisäksi olen täydentänyt aineistoa haastattelemalla neljää kyselylomakevastauksen palauttanutta henkilökohtaista avustajaa. Tutkimukseen sisältyy asiantuntijahaastattelu. The present study investigated the feasibility, acceptability, and clinical outcomes of a computer-assisted intervention for eating disorders based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The six-week intervention program was delivered through Internet, and it consisted of a webpage including information and exercises, and a personal e-mail contact. Tutkielman kirjallisuuskatsauksessa selvitettiin tietotekniikan roolin muutoksia kemian opetuksessa sekä etsittiin Suomessa ja kansainvälisesti kokeiltuja käytäntöjä mobiililaitteiden hyödyntämisestä kemian opetuksessa. Tablettien käyttöä on kokeiltu runsaasti niin Suomessa kuin muissakin maissa, mutta tutkimustietoa tablettien hyödyistä ja vaikutuksista opetuskäytössä on vielä niukasti. Kokeilujen perusteella tablettien käytettävyys koetaan hyväksi ja niiden nähdään parantavana opiskelumotivaatiota.
