(φ, ψ)-weak contractions in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces

The purpose of this paper is to extend the notion of (phi,psi)-weak contraction to intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces, by using an altering distance function. We obtain common fixed point results in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces, which generalize several known results from the literature.

ABSTRACTKey criteria of the quality of inhalative drugs are assessed in experiments generating so-called particle size distributions as data. Many experiments of that kind are carried out to demonstrate that necessary modifications to whatever part of the manufacturing process do not substantially change basic characteristics of an inhalable drug product. Some links between conditional and coregionalized multivariate Gaussian Markov random fields

Abstract Multivariate disease mapping models are attracting considerable attention. Many modeling proposals have been made in this area, which could be grouped into three large sets: coregionalization, multivariate conditional and univariate conditional models. In this work we establish some links between these three groups of proposals. Specifically, we explore the equivalence between the two conditional approaches and show that an important class of coregionalization models can be seen as a large subclass of the conditional approaches. Electron correlation in metal clusters, quantum dots and quantum rings

This short review presents a few case studies of finite electron systems for which strong correlations play a dominant role. In simple metal clusters, the valence electrons determine stability and shape of the clusters. The ionic skeleton of alkali metals is soft, and cluster geometries are often solely determined by electron correlations. In quantum dots and rings, the electrons may be confined by an external electrostatic potential, formed by a gated heterostructure. In the low density limit, the electrons may form so-called Wigner molecules, for which the many-body quantum spectra reveal the classical vibration modes. Non linear pseudo-bosons versus hidden Hermiticity

The increasingly popular concept of a hidden Hermiticity of operators (i.e., of their Hermiticity with respect to an {\it ad hoc} inner product in Hilbert space) is compared with the recently introduced notion of {\em non-linear pseudo-bosons}. The formal equivalence between these two notions is deduced under very general assumptions. Examples of their applicability in quantum mechanics are discussed.

The conventional definition of bioequivalence in terms of population means only, is criticized for lacking relevance to the individual subject. Both approaches to bioequivalence assessment proposed here for avoiding this shortcoming, focus on the probability of an event induced by the response of a randomly selected subject to two formulations of a given active agent. On powerful exact nonrandomized tests for the Poisson two-sample setting.

In the case of two independent samples from Poisson distributions, the natural target parameter for hypothesis testing is the ratio of the two population means. The conditional tests which have been derived for this class of problems already in the 1940s are well known to be optimal in terms of power only when randomized decisions between hypotheses are admitted at the boundary of the respective rejection regions. Valence Topological Charge-Transfer Indices for Reflecting Polarity: Correction for Heteromolecules

Valence topological charge-transfer (CT) indices are applied to the calculation of dipole moments mu. The mu calculated by algebraic and vector semisums of the CT indices are defined. The model is generalized for molecules with heteroatoms and corrected for sp(3)-heteromolecules. The ability of the indices for the description of the molecular charge distribution is established by comparing them with mu of the valence-isoelectronic series of cyclopentadiene, benzene and styrene.
