Zaspokojenie podstawowych potrzeb psychologicznych jako mediator między podstawowym samowartościowaniem a zadowoleniem zawodowym
2018
The article presents the verifi cation of a mediation between core self-evaluations (Judge, Locke, Durham, 1997) and work satisfaction, by the means of satisfaction of basic psychological needs at work (Deci et al., 2001). On a two multi-source cross-sectional samples (n1=977, n2=573), using path analysis, it was shown that both the structure of psychological needs at work is of three-factor character and that the postulated mediation relation can be confirmed. The results can be interpreted as a suggestion to look at the role of mediators between the dispositional variables such as core self-evaluations and job satisfaction.
Wage level or internal dispositions- what is more important in determining the satisfaction of employees on different posititions?
2016
The paper examines the mutual impact of both declared wages level and personal dispositions – core self-evaluations (Judge et al. 2003) on the perceived job and life satisfaction. Although the current consensus is that money does not guarantee happiness, a recent study by Kahneman and Deaton (2010) suggest there may be a positive money-life satisfaction relation, which is capped at a given level of income. The current study was conducted in 2015-2016 on a large sample (N=746) of Polish workers from different companies and organizational positions. The results, indicating that internal dispositions matter to a far greater extent than wages, are discussed in light of both selection and compen…
The work-family interface and its correlates : integrating variable and person oriented approaches
2017
The aim of this research was to examine key correlates of the interaction between work and family in one Nordic country, Finland, using a person- oriented and variable-oriented approach. The correlates that were chosen and examined over the course of three studies were job control and work-family boundary management styles, turnover intention, core self-evaluations, and vigor at work. Study I was part of a 2-year longitudinal study which was conducted in two Finnish universities (n = 700); Study II consisted of two samples, one of university employees (University 1, n = 666; University 2, n = 644), and the other of nurses (n = 301) from one healthcare district in Finland; and Study III used…
Disease dispersion as a spatial interaction: The case of Flavescence Dorée
2020
International audience; Flavescence dorée is a serious and incurable vine disease transmitted by an insect vector. Focusing on its spatial diffusion and on its control with pesticides, this paper investigates the private strategies of wine producers and their socially optimal counterparts. The socially optimal regulation has to address two externalities regarding private treatment decisions: (a) the insufficient consideration of collective benefits from controlling the vector populations; (b) the failure to take into account environmental damage related to pesticide application. The probability of infection is estimated on French data from a spatial econometric specification. Three alternat…
Students evaluating Internet sources – From versatile evaluators to uncritical readers
2008
The Internet is a significant information resource for students due to the ease of access it allows to a vast amount of information. As the quality of the information on the Internet varies, it is important that students are able to evaluate such information critically. The aim of the study was to investigate how students evaluate Internet sources in an authentic learning task. Upper secondary school students ( n = 25) were asked to look for source material on the Internet in order to write an essay. They were asked to verbalize their thoughts during the material gathering process. Their verbalizations and actions on the Internet were recorded and analyzed. The five evaluation profiles eme…
Crystal structure of (2E)-3-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-1-(thiophen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one
2017
In the title chalcone-thiophene derivative, the dihedral angle between the aromatic and the thiophene rings is 11.4 (2)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by C—H⋯O and C—H⋯S weak interactions along [100], forming rings of R22(8) graph-set motif, by C—H⋯O weak interactions along [010], forming C(6) chains, and by weak H(methyl–group)⋯Cg(thiophene ring) interactions into dimers; the crystal packing resembles a herringbone arrangement when viewed along [100]. A molecular docking calculation of the title compound with the neuraminidase enzyme was carried out.
Compensation appraisal processes for the realization of hydraulic works in an agricultural area.
2015
The present work aims to rationalize the process of the damages valuation for the construction of hydraulic works, considering the economic and evaluative aspects. The study deal with the damages in the sense of ex post and ex ante valuation for the task of environmental protection and the temporary employment. In this process are examined the technical and practical implications. The problem of the ex post compensation is proposed in the form of an income statement. The valuation of the ex ante damage, during the design of interventions of hydraulic nature, affect the taxation of the hydraulic constraint and the avoided future damages, to compensate in advance. The valuation of the indemni…
Communication-Efficient Federated Learning in Channel Constrained Internet of Things
2022
Federated learning (FL) is able to utilize the computing capability and maintain the privacy of the end devices by collecting and aggregating the locally trained learning model parameters while keeping the local personal data. As the most widely-used FL framework,Jederated averaging (FedAvg) suffers an expensive communication cost especially when there are large amounts of devices involving the FL process. Moreover, when considering asynchronous FL, the slowest device becomes the bottleneck for the cask effect and determines the overall latency. In this work, we propose a communication-efficient federated learning framework with partial model aggregation (CE-FedPA) algorithm to utilize comp…
Topical anti-inflammatory potential of quercetin in lipid-based nanosystems: In vivo and in vitro evaluation
2013
Purpose: To develop quercetin-loaded phospholipid vesicles, namely liposomes and PEVs (Penetration Enhancer-containing Vesicles), and to investigate their efficacy on TPA-induced skin inflammation. Methods: Vesicles were made from a mixture of phospholipids, quercetin and polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG), specifically added to increase drug solubility and penetration through the skin. Vesicle morphology and self-assembly were probed by Cryo-Transmission Electron Microscopy and Small/Wide Angle X-ray Scattering, as well as the main physico-chemical features by Light Scattering. The anti-inflammatory efficacy of quercetin nanovesicles was assessed in vivo on TPA-treated mice dorsal skin by the d…
