Struggles for moral value and the reproduction of gendered and racialised hierarchies in online discussions of violence

The article examines online discussions in Finland that focus on violence committed by Finnish women, on one hand, and non-white migrant men, on the other. Drawing on the perspective of sociology of value, the article illustrates how these discussions function as sites of struggles over moral worth in a contemporary context characterised by crises of both male and white hegemony. The authors suggest that, through the discussions, these current crises are projected on migrant men and certain groups of women, who thereby become construed as morally reprehensible. Machine Learning Models for Measuring Syntax Complexity of English Text

In this paper we propose a methodology to assess the syntax complexity of a sentence representing it as sequence of parts-of-speech and comparing Recurrent Neural Networks and Support Vector Machine. We have carried out experiments in English language which are compared with previous results obtained for the Italian one.

Pro Gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia Real Option Analysis -metodin sopivuutta start-up yhtiön investoinnin arvonmääritykseen. Jotta tutkimuskysymykseen saatiin vastaus, tuli myös case-yhtiön liiketoimintasuunnitelma selvittää ja edelleen mitkä ovat liiketoiminnan potentiaaliset rahavirrat, joihin arvonmääritys perustuu. Tutkimusmenetelmä oli kvantitatiivinen case-tutkimus ja tutkimusmetodi oli konstruktiivinen ja deskriptiivinen. Aims: Loneliness is an important public health challenge for all ages. This study reports time trends of loneliness among adolescents over a 12-year period and analyses the strength of the associations between loneliness, health complaints, and medicine use. Methods: Data were derived from the cross-sectional Finnish Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study conducted in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018. The study population is based on a random sample of schools with 20,444 participants aged 11–15 years. Ce document a pour objet de rendre compte des activités de recherche qui ont été menées dans le cadre de l’étude intitulée : « Évaluation des usages locaux de données territoriales ».Il s’agira ici de présenter le contexte de l’étude, son cadre théorique, les outils méthodologiques convoqués et la composition du corpus analysé, cette étude ne pouvant prétendre à l’exhaustivité des terrains d’observation possibles.Une grande part du document sera ensuite consacrée à la présentation des analyses, et à leur interprétation.Enfin, le tout sera mis à en perspective afin d’en synthétiser les résultats, conclusions, et pistes de recherche complémentaires.
