Peut-on concilier un faible usage de pesticides, une bonne performance économique et environnementale ? Analyse d’un réseau national de fermes de dém…
2017
Feeding an increasing world population with a sustainable agriculture is one of the greatest challenges of this century. The reduction of the reliance on pesticides is a critical aspect in this quest for sustainability. Whether cropping systems with reduced reliance on pesticides would be able to reconcile the various components of sustainability remains however a matter of debate. Are they as productive and profitable than current mainstream cropping systems? Here the objective is to study the feasibility of a reduced reliance on pesticides in France. We used a unique dataset from a national network of more than thousand arable commercial farms between 2009 and 2011. Launched in the framew…
Professional Integration of Sociology Graduates from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, 2002-2009
2010
Abstract The professional integration of higher education students is a problem for all contemporary societies, including the Romanian one. The surplus of graduates, the diplomas’ devaluation, the opportunities’ inequality and the unequal distribution of labour market’s posts are just a few determinant factors, which make the individual to adopt a variety of strategies to get a job. This research is particularly interested in the integration process on labour markets of sociology graduates in Romanian academic system, taking in consideration the case of sociology graduates from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. The main objective is to understand all mechanisms of social, economic, cult…
Does reviewing experience reduce disagreement in proposals evaluation? Insights from Marie Skłodowska-Curie and COST Actions
2021
Abstract We have limited understanding of why reviewers tend to strongly disagree when scoring the same research proposal. Thus far, research that explored disagreement has focused on the characteristics of the proposal or the applicants, while ignoring the characteristics of the reviewers themselves. This article aims to address this gap by exploring which reviewer characteristics most affect disagreement among reviewers. We present hypotheses regarding the effect of a reviewer’s level of experience in evaluating research proposals for a specific granting scheme, that is, scheme reviewing experience. We test our hypotheses by studying two of the most important research funding programmes i…

Evaluation: between values and indicators
2017
The article discusses the dilemmas associated with the development of evaluation studies in Poland. These studies are for several years establishing their position and entering into a variety of social areas. Along with their dissemination the approaches and models of evaluation used in these areas differentiate. The practice of evaluation involves difficult choices regarding compliance with the idea of these studies, their usefulness and social functions. On the evaluative field appear significant disparities between different areas of evaluation and alternative models that are not always positive image of this field.
Ex-post evaluation of Territorial Integrated Projects in Italy: an empirical analysis at firm level
2013
This paper focuses on the evaluation of an incentive program for firms implemented in southern Italy during the last decade. In the framework of the policy instruments aimed to reduce territorial disparities, and to support local development, territorial integrated projects (TIP) constituted a new operational mode to implement the Regional Operational Programmes. A TIP is defined as a ?set of inter-sectorial actions, closely consistent and linked among them, which converge towards the common objective of territorial development and justify a unitary implementation approach'. The resources allocated for each TIP may be aimed at three types of interventions such as infrastructures, public act…
Proton Direct Ionization in Sub-Micron Technologies : Test Methodologies and Modelling
2023
Two different low energy proton (LEP) test methods, one with quasi-monoenergetic and the other with very wide proton beam energy spectra, have been studied. The two test methodologies have been applied to devices that were suggested from prior heavy-ion tests to be sensitive to proton direct ionization (PDI). The advantages and disadvantages of the two test methods are discussed. The test method using quasi-monoenergetic beams requires device preparation and high energy resolution beams, but delivers results that can be interpreted directly and can be used in various soft error rate (SER) calculation methods. The other method, using a heavily degraded high energy proton beam, requires littl…
Scheduling under the network of temporo-spatial proximity relationships
2017
We discuss and introduce to the schedulingeld a novel, qualitative optimization model - scheduling under the network of temporo-spatial proximity relationships. We introduce a half perimeter proximity measure as an objective of scheduling. We present and evaluate an incremental Sequence Pair neighborhood evaluation algorithm, applicable to both scheduling and rectangle packing problems in VLSI industry. In this paper, we discuss and introduce to the scheduling field a novel optimization objective - half perimeter proximity measure in scheduling under the network of temporo-spatial proximity relationships. The presented approach enables to qualitatively express various reasons of scheduling ce…
