However, regional variations in deadweight spending have not yet been considered. An evaluation of regional business subsidies in Finland during 2000–2003 is conducted. Abstract We introduce the notion of variational measure with respect to a derivation basis in a topological measure space and consider a Kurzweil–Henstock-type integral related to this basis. We prove a version of Hake’s theorem in terms of a variational measure.

On Variational Measures Related to Some Bases

Abstract We extend, to a certain class of differentiation bases, some results on the variational measure and the δ-variation obtained earlier for the full interval basis. In particular the theorem stating that the variational measure generated by an interval function is σ-finite whenever it is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure is extended to any Busemann–Feller basis.

Interstitial deletions of the long arm of chromosome 12 are rare, with a dozen patients carrying a deletion in 12q21 being reported. Recently a critical region (CR) has been delimited and could be responsible for the more commonly described clinical features, such as developmental delay/intellectual disability, congenital genitourinary and brain malformations. Other, less frequent, clinical signs do not seem to be correlated to the proposed CR. On hidden heterogeneity in directional asymmetry – can systematic bias be avoided?

8 pages; International audience; Directional asymmetry (DA) biases the analysis of fluctuating asymmetry (FA) mainly because among-individual differences in the predisposition for DA are difficult to detect. However, we argue that systematic bias mainly results from predictable associations between signed right-left asymmetry and other factors, i.e. from systematic variation in DA. We here demonstrate methods to test and correct for this, by analysing bilateral asymmetry in size and shape of an irregular sea urchin.
