Automatic Emulation by Adaptive Relevance Vector Machines

This paper introduces an automatic methodology to construct emulators for costly radiative transfer models (RTMs). The proposed method is sequential and adaptive, and it is based on the notion of the acquisition function by which instead of optimizing the unknown RTM underlying function we propose to achieve accurate approximations. The proposed methodology combines the interpolation capabilities of a modified Relevance Vector Machine (RVM) with the accurate design of an acquisition function that favors sampling in low density regions and flatness of the interpolation function. Input-Output Feedback Linearization Control of Linear Induction Motors Including the dynamic End-Effects

This paper proposes the theoretical framework and the consequent application of the input-output feedback linearization (FL) control technique to linear induction motors (LIM). LIM, additionally to RIM, presents other strong non-linearities caused by the dynamic end effects, leading to a space-vector dynamic model with time-varying inductance and resistance terms and a braking force term. ABSTRACT Autographa californica multicapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV), a potent virus for mammalian cell gene delivery, possesses an ability to transduce mammalian cells without viral replication. We examined the role of the cellular cytoskeleton in the cytoplasmic trafficking of viral particles toward the nucleus in human hepatic cells. Microscopic studies showed that capsids were found in the nucleus after either viral inoculation or cytoplasmic microinjection of nucleocapsids. An adaptive control law for robotic manipulator without velocity feedback

In this paper, a new adaptive control law is designed for robotic manipulators, based on the use of reference velocities instead of the actual ones and feedback signals generated from position errors. The law in question is suitable for trajectory tracking and positioning tasks. Its peculiarities are implementation without velocity measurements and estimation, high signal-to-noise ratio in control torques and absence of parameter drift in positioning tasks. Experimental tests are shown with the aim to confirm the validity of the control law and to illustrate its actual effects on the behaviour of the system.

Broken rotor bars detection via Park's vector approach based on ANFIS

Many attempts have been made on fault diagnosis of induction motors based on frequency and time domain analysis of stator current. In this paper, first the Park's vector transformation and frequency analysis for fault detection of induction motors are introduced. Then a smart approach using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is proposed. This approach uses the time domain features derived from the Park's vector transformation of stator current. The hydraulic transformer is used in the hydraulic system to enhance the efficiency. However, how to control the angle displacement of the port plate is becoming a critical issue because of the new structure of the hydraulic transformer.
