Il lavoro analizza da diversi punti di vista un particolare tipo di strutture voltate noto come volte catalane (bóveda tabicada) e la tecnica costruttiva correlata. Le volte catalane sono volte realizzate da strati alterni di mattoni e malta, caratterizzate da un esiguo spessore in relazione alle altre dimensioni. The Valencia Eustress-Distress Appraisal Scale (VEDAS): Validation of the Italian Version

© 2018 by the authors. The aim of this study is to validate the Italian version of the Valencia Eustress-Distress Appraisal Scale (VEDAS). Two hundred and thirty-two Italian workers were involved in the study. Dimensionality, reliability, and concurrent validity were analyzed. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a four-dimensional structure. In addition, the Italian version of the scale showed good internal consistency and validity. The results indicate that the Italian version of the VEDAS is a valid instrument for measuring eustress and distress appraisal in the Italian context. ispartof: SUSTAINABILITY vol:10 issue:11 status: published
On the modern use of the bòvedas tabicadas

The paper concerns the study of the so-called “bòvedas tabicadas” (i.e. thin vaults constituted by layers of “rasillas” suitably superimposed) based on the results obtained by specific experimental investigations effected on the material of which they are constituted as well as on a vault that is still working. A particular type of vaulted structures, known as bóvedas tabicadas (Catalan vaults), made with alternate layers of bricks and mortar and characterized by a very low thickness in comparison to the other two dimensions, are studied. Il saggio analizza la variegata gamma di soluzioni tecniche e formali riscontrabili nella costruzione di volte reali nella Sicilia del XIV secolo, attraverso la casistica osservabile nelle cappelle platine. Dall'esame dei casi studio selezionati emerge un panorama ricco e vario, indicativo di un intreccio di esperienze e modelli di diversa provenienza, a confutare la tradizionale visione storiografica di un'isola totalmente chiusa in se stessa nel Trecento.
