Symbiotic N2 fixation activity in relation to C economy of Pisum sativum L. as a function of plant phenology
2003
The relationships between symbiotic nitrogen fixation (SNF) activity and C fluxes were investigated in pea plants (Pisum sativum L. cv. Baccara) using simultaneous 13 C and 15 N labelling. Analysis of the dynamics of labelled CO 2 efflux from the nodulated roots allowed the different components associated with SNF activity to be calculated, together with root and nodule synthetic and maintenance processes. The carbon costs for the synthesis of roots and nodules were similar and decreased with time. Carbon lost by turnover, associated with maintenance processes, decreased with time for nodules while it increased in the roots. Nodule turnover remained higher than root turnover until flowering…
Fluorescence estimation in the framework of the CEFLES2 campaign
2011
International audience; Chlorophyll fluorescence (ChF) is a relevant indicator of the actual plant physiological status. In this article different methods to measure ChF from remote sensing are evaluated: The Fraunhofer Line Discrimination (FLD), theFluorescence Radiative Method (FRM) and the improved Fraunhofer Line Discrimination (iFLD). The three methods have been applied to data acquired in the framework of the CarboEurope, FLEX and Sentinel-2 (CEFLES2) campaign in Les Landes, France in September 2007. Comparing with in situ measurements, the results indicate that the methods that provide the best results are the FLD and the iFLD with root mean square errors (RMSEs) of 0.4 and 0.5 mW m-…
Plant phenology and genetic variability in root and nodule development strongly influence genetic structuring of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar vicia…

Période 2000-2012. http://prodinra.inra.fr/record/256699; International audience; The symbiotic relationships between legumes and their nitrogen (N-2)-fixing bacterial partners (rhizobia) vary in effectiveness to promote plant growth according to both bacterial and legume genotype. To assess the selective effect of host plant on its microsymbionts, the influence of the pea (Pisum sativum) genotype on the relative nodulation success of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae (Rlv) genotypes from the soil populations during plant development h…

Methomyl analogues with increased biological activity towards F7T maize mitochondria
1987
Abstract Methomyl analogues were synthesized by substituting alkyl moieties (C 2 -C 21 ) in the place of the carbamic methyl. They were assayed on mitochondria isolated from male sterile (F 7 T) and male fertile (F 7 N) maize. They had no action on F 7 N mitochondria. The heptadecyl (C 17 ) and heneicosanyl (C 21 ) derivatives had no conspicuous effect on F 7 T mitochondria. By contrast, the ethyl, propyl, butyl, nonyl, tridecyl (C 13 ) and pentadecyl (C 15 ) derivatives had the same type of activity as Methomyl on F 7 T mitochondria, namely stimulation of NADH oxidation and inhibition of malate oxidation. Moreover, the concentration at which they were maximally effective decreased from 10 …

A thin layer-based amperometric enzyme immunoassay for the rapid and sensitive diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus infections
2012
Abstract A simple electrochemical sandwich immunoassay involving a polystyrene microarray slide coated with monoclonal capture antibodies and carbon screen-printed sensors (SPS) was designed for the rapid diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The detection of the antibody-antigen complex formation relied on the use of a horseradish peroxidase conjugate. Its chronoamperometric measurement detection was performed by confining a droplet of H 2 O 2 /3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine enzyme substrate/mediator solution within a thin layer between one spot of the microarray and the surface of one screen-printed electrochemical cell. The accumulation of the enzyme product in the thin film of…
