International audience; This paper presents the combined applications of omnidirectional vision featuring on its application to aerial robotics. Omnidirectional vision is first used to compute the attitude, altitude and motion not only in rural environment but also in the urban space. Secondly, a combination of omnidirectional and perspective cameras permits to estimate the altitude. This research paper presents guidelines on how to select between self-contained electro-hydraulic and electromechanical cylinders. An example based on the motion control of a single-boom crane is studied. The sizing process of the different off-the-shelf components is analyzed in terms of design impact when replacing a traditional valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder. The self-contained electro-hydraulic solution is the best choice when a risk for high impact forces is present, when the required output power level lies continuously above 2 kW, or when installation space, weight, and cost are critical design objectives. Real-time human collision detection for industrial robot cells

A collision detection system triggering on human motion was developed using the Robot Operating System (ROS) and the Point Cloud Library (PCL). ROS was used as the core of the programs and for the communication with an industrial robot. Combining the depths fields from the 3D cameras was accomplished by the use of PCL. To this end, a case study consisting of 250 houses connected to the distribution network through a MV/LV transformer substation has been investigated and implemented in the experimental microgrid built at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy.
