Bakalaura darba Meteoroloģisko parādību atspoguļojums latviešu valodā mērķis ir skatīt meteoroloģiskas parādības gan no semantiska, gan sintaktiska viedokļa – izpētīt, kādās sintaktiskās konstrukcijās tiek atspoguļotas meteoroloģiskas parādības un noteikt šo parādību nosaukumu tipisko apkaimi. Darbs sastāv no ievada, apzīmējumu saraksta, četrām nodaļām, secinājumiem un izmantotās literatūras saraksta. Pirmajā nodaļā ir dots ieskats funkcionālo stilu sistēmā, jo meteoroloģiskās parādības dažādos stilos tiek raksturotas atšķirīgi. Background Breastfeeding produces beneficial effects on a baby's early growth and development, and general well-being. Some studies have associated breastfeeding with better occlusal development. The aim of this study was to assess the long-term effect of breastfeeding on occlusal development in children. In this article we examine some effects of language contact in the multilingual province of Trento, where Romance and Germanic varieties have been in contact for centuries. We focus on the syntax of phrasal verbs (e. g. ‘go out’, ‘get away’) in Trentin, a Romance dialect group, in Fassan, a Rhaeto-romance variety, and in Cimbrian, a German(ic) minority language. In particular, we deal with two word order phenomena which might be attributed to contact with the more prestigious or widespread varieties spoken in the area: (i) in some Fassan phrasal verbs we find the order «Verb – XP – Locative element», which resembles the German order; (ii) in Cimbrian various syntactic positions are possible…
On syntactic diagnostics as tests for telicity in ancient Indo-European languages. Evidence from Vedic and Greek

The aim of this paper is to assay the reliability of completive and durative adverbials as linguistic tests for telicity in a historical perspective. Until now such tests have been applied only to contemporary languages, which provide both written and spoken corpora. However, if the compatibility with for/in-adverbials is a reliable test, it should function not only crosslinguistically, but also with ancient and reconstructed languages. I will use digital corpora of Vedic Sanskrit and Homeric Greek texts to explore the compatibility of temporal expressions with a selected sample of verbs that derive from a previous Indo-European common stage.

Comprensione prosodica e comprensione di modi di dire e proverbi in bambini di età pre-scolare: il ruolo del contesto socio culturale

L’acquisizione degli aspetti pragmatici del linguaggio comporta un processo costruttivo, di comprensione di codici non linguistici, che il bambino apprende attraverso l’interazione con il contesto socio culturale. Ne sono un esempio la comprensione prosodia e di modi dire e proverbi. La ricerca ha indagato la relazione tra comprensione prosodica e di modi di dire e proverbi, su due gruppi di bambini di 4 e 5 anni appartenenti a contesti socio-culturali diversi. Alla ricerca hanno partecipato 290 soggetti divisi in due gruppi di età: 150 bambini di 4 anni e 140 di 5 anni, equamente distribuiti per livello socio culturale. Dzīvnieku skaņu verbu semantika un lietojums latviešu valodā

Maģistra darba “Dzīvnieku skaņu verbu semantika un lietojums latviešu valodā” tēmas aktualitāte – dzīvnieku skaņu verbi ir maz pētīti latviešu valodniecībā, tādēļ veikts pētījums par dzīvniekskaņu verbu semantiku, metaforu, verbu metaforisku lietojumu un mēģināts pēc komponentanalīzes metodes noteikt semantiskos elementus dzīvniekskaņu verbiem. Metaforiskas nozīmes pārnesums dzīvniekskaņu verbiem attiecībā uz cilvēkiem vairumā gadījumu rada negatīvu novērtējumu. Vairāki dzīvniekskaņu verbi maina savu pamatnozīmi, jo pamatnozīmē lietoti ļoti reti, kā arī liela daļa dzīvniekskaņu verbu no valodas izzūd un ir grūti sameklēt ar tiem saistītus piemērus.
