Search for the Lepton Flavor Violation Process J/ψ→eμ at BESIII

We search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay of the $J/\psi$ into an electron and a muon using $(225.3\pm2.8)\times 10^{6}$ $J/\psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. Four candidate events are found in the signal region, consistent with background expectations. An upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(J/\psi \to e\mu)< 1.5 \times 10^{-7}$ (90% C.L.) is obtained.
Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay $B^{0} \to K^{*0} \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$

The angular distribution and differential branching fraction of the decay B-0 -> K*(0)mu(+)mu(-) are studied using a data sample, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1). Several angular observables are measured in bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared, q(2). A first measurement of the zero-crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system is also presented. The zero-crossing point is measured to be q(0)(2) = 4.9 +/- 0.9 GeV2/c(4), where the uncertainty is the sum of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions.
B-K-parameter from N-f=2 twisted mass lattice QCD

We present an unquenched N-f = 2 lattice computation of the B-K parameter which controls K-0 - (K) over bar (0) oscillations. A partially quenched setup is employed with two maximally twisted dynamical (sea) light Wilson quarks, and valence quarks of both the maximally twisted and the Osterwalder-Seiler variety. Suitable combinations of these two kinds of valence quarks lead to a lattice definition of the B-K parameter which is both multiplicatively renormalizable and O(a) improved. Employing the nonperturbative RI-MOM scheme, in the continuum limit and at the physical value of the pion mass we get B-K(RGI) = 0.729 +/- 0.030, a number well in line with the existing quenched and unquenched d…
Measurement of the mixing-induced and CP-violating parameters of Bs -> phi gamma decays at LHCb

En esta tesis se presenta la primera medida de los observables de violación de CP e inducidos por mezcla de la desintegración Bs -> phi gamma (los observables A, S y C), que aparecen en la fracción de desintegración en función del tiempo. Se han utilizado los datos tomados por el experimento LHCb durante los años 2011 y 2012, representando una luminosidad integrada de 3 fb-1 en total. El Modelo Estándar de física de partículas describe las propiedades de todas las partículas elementales y de las interacciones fuerte, débil y electromagnética. DNA barcoding facilitates many evolutionary and ecological studies, including the examination of the dietary diversity of herbivores. In this study, we present a survey of ecological associations between herbivorous beetles and host plants from seriously threatened European steppic grasslands. We determined host plants for the majority (65%) of steppic leaf beetles (55 species) and weevils (59) known from central Europe using two barcodes (trnL and rbcL) and two sequencing strategies (Sanger for mono/oligophagous species and Illumina for polyphagous taxa).
