Implementing kiva antibullying program in pioner schools in Spain

This study analyzes the implementation of the KiVa Antibullyiing program in Spain with 10 pioneer schools. This research has two aims. The first is a preliminary evaluation of the KiVa program’s implementation in the pioneer schools in Spain. To do so, the perceived levels of bullying and victimization have been analyzed through the surveys done anonymously by the students of 10 KiVa schools before and after the program’s implementation. Rodi-Risberg addresses trauma’s generic border-crossing movement through Sophie Hannah’s socially conscious crime thriller Hurting Distance (2007), a trauma narrative of sexual violence and emotional abuse that can be referred to as crime trauma fiction because it incorporates and blends features of both genres. Rodi-Risberg’s main argument is that crime trauma fiction such as Hannah’s novel represents traumatic experience as politically significant by mobilising affect through its themes of violence as social critique. Tutkimus käsittelee yhteisöstä erottamisen ja siihen takaisinliittymisen mahdollisuuksia rikostaustaisten naisten elämässä. Tutkimuksen kohteena ovat rikostaustaisten naisten kertomukset elämänkulustaan. Tutkimuksessa analysoidaan naisten kertomuksia siirtymäriittiteorian eli yhteisöstä erottamisen, liminaalin ja takaisinliittämisen näkökulmasta. Aineisto on kerätty haastattelemalla 18 naista, jotka haastatteluhetkellä olivat joko suorittamassa vankeusrangaistustaan, ehdonalaisen vapauden valvonnassa tai rangaistuksensa suorittaneet. The article reconstructs the framework of criminal legislation on the protection of women, within the framework of the broadest gender protection, which in Italy has now reached a very advanced level. However, there is a lack of a norm on sexual harassment and it is emphasized that the application practice is not always consistent. In this regard, precisely from the point of view of the jurist and criminal lawyer, it is concluded that the laws are not enough, but a profound cultural change is needed.

ABSTRACT. Violence is a serious problem, and social and health care providers are in a key position for implementing successful interventions. This qualitative study of 6 focus groups with professionals (n = 30) examines the health care professionals’ ways of framing a domestic violence intervention. Of special interest here is how professionals see their own roles in the process of recognizing and helping victims of domestic violence. W artykule poruszono kwestie dotyczące stosowania przemocy wobec osób starszych. Zjawisko to staje się jednym z głównych problemów społecznych, z którymi muszą zmierzyć się m.in. pracownicy socjalni oraz specjaliści z zakresu pedagogiki (w tym gerontopedagogiki), socjologii, a także przedstawiciele służb pomocowych. Jak wynika z analizy danych statystycznych oraz wyników badań naukowych, skala stosowania przemocy stale się pogłębia. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano przegląd badań dotyczących skali i determinantów stosowania przemocy wobec seniorów oraz koncepcje wycofania moralnego jako jednego z czynników wywołujących zachowania przemocowe.
Positions constructed in specialist health care for patients experiencing intimate partner violence

The aim of this study was to examine the positions that health personnel in specialist health care construct for patients experiencing intimate partner violence. It was also studied whether these constructed positions were challenged by other health care professionals and if so, how. The method of analysis chosen was discourse analysis.
