The Temple of Seppannibale originally known as the church of San Pietro lo Petraro is located in Fasano and is a quadrangular building with three internal naves, with two small domes arranged in axis. Inside there are remains of frescoes from the Benevento school showing scenes showing some figures (perhaps Prophets) and scenes from the book of the Apocalypse. Il presente contributo rientra nell’ambito di in una più vasta linea di ricerca denominata “Progetto Hierapolis Virtuale”, sviluppata a partire dal 2007 e finalizzata alla ricostruzione tridimensionale degli edifici della città. The essay concerns the recent work carried out as part of a multidisciplinary research on some rocky churches in the southern Apulia, conducted in collaboration with the Chair of History of Medieval Art of the University of Salento and of the University of Bari. The work aims at the knowledge and the monitoring of the fresco paintings inside three rocky environments, two of which are located in Lama d’Antico, in Fasano (BR), and the other two in Vaste di Poggiardo and Giurdignano (LE). Abstract. The archaeological site of Ancient Noto is all that remains of one of the most interesting and important cities in the Est part of Sicily.
