Is Age Just a Number? Cognitive Reserve as a Predictor of Divergent Thinking in Late Adulthood

The purpose of the study was to test a model of causal relationships among cognitive reserve (CR), personality variables such as Neuroticism and Openness to experience, and divergent thinking (DT), independently evaluating performance in different domains (verbal and graphic). It was hypothesized that CR, Openness, and Neuroticism would each directly influence verbal and graphic DT. Creativity in Middle Childhood: Influence of Perceived Maternal Sensitivity, Self-esteem, and Shyness

This study aimed to examine the relationship between maternal sensitivity and affect, as perceived by the child, and childhood creativity. Self-esteem and shyness were considered mediating factors. A total of 151 elementary school pupils were tested on verbal and pictorial creativity, self-esteem, and perceived maternal affect and sensitivity. Their teachers assessed each child’s shyness in their relations at school. A Multiple Indicators and Multiple Causes (MIMIC) model of the causal relationships among the study’s variables was tested. These monks, who combined architectural with spiritual labors, accomplished works in which they knew how to combine tradition with new architectural tendencies. The church of St. Michael Archangel of Burjassot by Friar Francisco de Santa Bárbara, provides the chance to study this constructive phenomenon in relation to its doorway and twin altarpieces at the crossing. Redefining Creativity - Analyzing Definitions, Collocations, and Consequences

How holistically is human creativity defined, investigated, and understood? Until recently, most scientific research on creativity has focused on its positive side. However, creativity might not only be a desirable resource but also be a potential threat. In order to redefine creativity we need to analyze and understand definitions, collocations, and consequences of creativity. In this paper, we reviewed 42 explicit definitions and 120 collocations. The thematic analysis of our data reveals that the vast majority of creativity definitions do not emphasize the positive/negative aspects of the concept. Vicente Ripollés Pérez (1867-1943) fue unos de los maestros de capilla españoles más interesantes entre los siglos XIX y XX; destacó como compositor, director, musicólogo y por su liderazgo en el movimiento cecilianista. Llegó a ser nombrado canónigo de la Catedral de Valencia y fue maestro de capilla en las catedrales de Tortosa, Sevilla y el Real Colegio de Corpus Christi en Valencia. A esta última institución legó su archivo y biblioteca que han sido catalogados recientemente y que contienen más de ochocientos do-cumentos. El presente estudio analiza una crátera griega de campana realizada con la técnica de figuras rojas que Sorolla representó varias veces durante su estancia de pensionado en Roma. El nivel de detalle con el que este vaso se representa y la metodología pictórica de Sorolla parecen indicar que se trata de una pieza real. La búsqueda del correlato arqueológico, empleando para ello corpora y bases de datos de cerámica, ha permitido saber de qué vaso se trata y en qué colección se encontraba, lo que arroja nuevos datos sobre la estancia y el trabajo de Sorolla en Roma.
