Back in the 1960s, Einstein’s theory of general relativity re-emerged as a field of important research activity. Much of the impetus behind this resurgence came from powerful new mathematical ideas that Roger Penrose and Stephen Hawking applied to prove general singularity theorems for global space-time structures. Anomaly-free scale symmetry and gravity

In this Letter, we address the question of whether the conformal invariance can be considered as a global symmetry of a theory of fundamental interactions. To describe Nature, this theory must contain a mechanism of spontaneous breaking of the scale symmetry. Besides that, the fundamental theory must include gravity, whereas all known extensions of the conformal invariance to the curved space-time suffer from the Weyl anomaly. We show that conformal symmetry can be made free from the quantum anomaly only in the flat space. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot trauksmes sensitivitātes, fizisko aktivitāšu sensitivitātes, ķermeņa masas indeksa un fizisko aktivitāšu saistību. Pētījumā piedalījās 478 dalībnieki, no tiem 362 sievietes un 116 vīriešu. Numerical Recovery of Source Singularities via the Radiative Transfer Equation with Partial Data

The inverse source problem for the radiative transfer equation is considered, with partial data. Here we demonstrate numerical computation of the normal operator $X_{V}^{*}X_{V}$ where $X_{V}$ is the partial data solution operator to the radiative transfer equation. The numerical scheme is based in part on a forward solver designed by F. Monard and G. Bal. We will see that one can detect quite well the visible singularities of an internal optical source $f$ for generic anisotropic $k$ and $\sigma$, with or without noise added to the accessible data $X_{V}f$. Direct visualization of pyrrole reactivity by confined oxidation in a Cyclodextrin Metal‐Organic Framework

Metal-organic frameworks can be used as porous templates to exert control over polymerization reactions. Shown here are the possibilities offered by these crystalline, porous nanoreactors to capture highly‐reactive intermediates for a better understanding of the mechanism of polymerization reactions. By using a cyclodextrin framework the polymerization of pyrrole is restricted, capturing the formation of terpyrrole cationic intermediates. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction is used to provide definite information on the supramolecular interactions that induce the formation and stabilization of a conductive array of cationic complexes.

Tutkielmassa kartoitettiin Järvenpään kaupungin ala- ja yläkoulujen opettajien mielipiteitä eri aktiivitaulumerkkien käyttäjäystävällisyydestä. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin menetelmänä pääkomponenttianalyysia, jatkoanalyysina pääkomponenttipisteitä ja avoimia kysymyksiä aktiivitaulumerkkien ongelmista. Pääkomponenteiksi valittiin käyttö, ongelmat sekä koulutus ja tuki. Tulosten perusteella aktiivitaulu koettiin käyttäjäystävälliseksi laitteeksi ja aktiivitaulujen välillä ei ollut merkittäviä eroja.
